no is the simple answer to the playa bella sunset question. the sun sets at its most northerly point on mid summers day 21 june. from then it starts setting a minute earlier and a bit further south every day, so by september it will be further south than in may.

here's my tip - go to cala conta at sunset and watch it drop behind the islands - you'll be very much alone (and without the performing seals of mambo etc)

you could try the arenal which is a bit closer to the town and directly faces the beach, from there you will be able to see the sun set as you will be directly facing it. You could also try Kumharas in the bay which is a great chill out bar for sunsets, from there you will be able to see th sun set over the islands :D
