You could try sun island in the maldives. There's a little bit of night life and the service is out of ths world.

Hi Mustafaholiday, i went to mexico a couple of years back with my family and stayed ta the Riu Tequilla. i thought we were at the wrong hotel cos i knew we couldnt afford anything so good but we were at the right place and it was magnificent! they treated you like royalty, couldnt do enough for you but at the same time kept a discreet distance. it could be as lively or as quiet as you wanted it to be. i know its a long way to go and if you can make a fortnight then do so but we loved it so much id go back for a weekend just to go through the experience again! i have recommended it to family and friends who went to see for themselves and they came back with the same opinion as myself. good luck.

How about the greek island of Santorini which is more exclusive and upmarket than the like of Crete or Corfu as it is a special holiday. You could also think about Cyprus but that is 4.5 hours flying time.

i know i keep telling everyone about this place..but..Taurito Princess in Playa Taurito, Gran Canaria..AI, 4*, quiet resort, top class hotel ( read the reviews), within the 4 hours flying time ( well maybe 4 and half ). Everything you requested in your post. we went in march and are going back in November, taking the rest of our clan (11) for a massive family celebration of various events..check it out on the thomsons web site. there is a video of the hotel, the resort and other customers reviews...i have never been so impressed with one hotel as i was/am with this one...
