I can't really help about nice hotels in Torre, although I've seen several down by the beach that are "nice" in that they are in a good position. I've only ever stayed in one hotel and that was Greigo Mar and even though it had good reviews I didn't like where it was and wouldn't stay there again as it was in the town and quite a way from the beach. That's the trouble with Torremolinos it's very hilly and you could either end up in the town and have to walk down a long hill to the beach (or find one of the lifts) or you could be down by the beach and have to walk up the hill to the shops etc.

My husband and I usually stay in Fuengirola which we like much better than Torremolinos or Benalmadena, mainly because it's flat! We have stayed several times at the Las Palmeras which is right behind Fuengirola harbour and only a short walk to the beach. If you like looking round shops and having a good choice of restaurants nearby then it would be ideal as it's right in the middle of things and there are always lots of people about in the evenings. If you like hotel entertainment then there is cabaret most nights, although we didn't watch it, preferring to walk along the promenade instead. The rooms have recently been refurbished and are very comfortable and the food has been good. The hotel is close to the train station which is useful for going to other beaches, although it should be noted that the main Benalmadena station is a long way from the beach. We have had some very good deals as we book the flights with Easyjet and the accommodation through Alpharooms and we go half board.

Another hotel we stayed in in Fuengirola is at the far end of the beach and is called Gardenia Park but we wouldn't stay there again, there is no air conditioning and it was uncomfortably hot in the dining room and lounge and was also very noisy as there were a lot of children there.

Are there any nice hotels in Torrie.
Can anyone suggest a better place or a good hotel please

There are some fabulous hotels in Torremolinos and you have to remember that Torremolinos is a big place.
There is the town with all the "main" shops and that is hilly, but the boundary of Torremolinos is nearly up to the Puerto in Benalmadena and this " district" is called La Carihuela.....you will see this from the map that I posted for you. HERE
In La Carihuela there are some lovely 3 and 4* hotels and most are set either on the beach/promenade or a street behind....and it is ALL flat.
This place has fish restaurants that are world famous and the sea food is to die for.

You can walk in one direction to Benalmadena, or the other way into Torremolinos on the beautiful promenade and up the steps into the main shopping area of Calle San Miguel....the flat promenade goes on for miles and miles, with plenty of shops and bars.

The Don Marco/Pedro/Pablo are set side by side across a small road from the promenade with the "town" up and behind you... you could if you wanted too, never go up into the town of Torremolinos itself, or pay approx € 4 for a taxi up and walk down.

Another thing...if you do go up into Torremolinos, then you can get the train and go to Malaga, Arroyo de la Miel, or Fuengirola for a few Euros each.
You cannot go wrong, there is only one track and it goes Malaga/Fuengirola. Fuengirola/Malaga, with stops inbetween, and once you are in Fuengirola then you can get the bus up to Mijas or go on to Marbella.... there are also independant excusions to various places like Granada, Seville or Gibraltar

IMO: There is certainly plenty of things to do and I love this part of the world.

The beach of La Carihuela....looking from Torremolinos towards the Puerto Deportivo de Benalmadena in the far distance.

The DonMarco/Pablo with the Don Pedro inbetween...you can use all facilities of these hotels.

if you're looking for a safe good quality hotel in torre then you will not go wrong with the amaragua on the la carriheula beach, a really good standard of hotel on the beach front and the restuarant does a grill every night with meat cooked as you watch there's a bar directly in front of the hotel that has entertainment and short walk towards benalmadena has plenty of bars with entertainment also close to the benalmadena harbour if i had not been a couple of years ago i would be going back this year but dont like to go back to a place i have been to recently

Thanks everyone for the info
We've more or less decided on the Don Pedro.
I don't mind a walk up into the town infact it will be good excercise to burn off all those calories. Is it far from the sol hotels to the town....I estimated about a 15 min walk....would that be about right?

I go to Torremillinos every six to eight weeks and can say without any hesitation that 2 forty somethings will feel definately at home in the resort.all the younger lager lout types seem to go to Benalmadina and it a favourite resort of the local Spaniards.
It has a wonderful beach and yes the walk is uohill into the Town Centre for the Shops and Restaurants but it is a pleasant walk and well worth it!!!
The nightlife in the resort is busy but certainlt NOT manic and most of the bars and nightclubs in the La Nogalera complex are Gay so if you are a dico dacer Benmaldina is where you should go!!!!
So book that holiday and I promise you as a regular visitor to the resort Summer and Winter that you will have a good time!!!!

Hi tangobunny,
I can recommend the Riu Nautlius hotel, stayed there a couple of years ago. It's not a cheap hotel, but it's one of the best I have stayed in. This hotel is very near Benalmadena Marina which very pretty and has some nice shops & good restaurants. Just across the road from the Sol Aloha Puerto hotel, which is just a short walk when you turn left out of the front of the hotel, is a bar called Baileys, its run by an English couple, it has cabaret acts on every night.Saw acts from stars in your eys there, suitable for 40 somethings.

As mentioned above - Hotel Don Pedro or Don Marco. I stay often in Don Pedro and for the charge I think its great although during the summer can be a little noisy in the corridors with late flight arrivals early flight departures and excited Brits and Germans!! Nice pool and deck chairs etc.
