That would really depend on wether you are self-catering or half-board Sue
I'm also interested in this, in particular the price of meals in restaurants etc. we go to calanbosch on 8th july to the paradise apts. I've only been to spanish resorts half board or all incl. and that was a few years ago, are we in for a big shock, price wise? the euro seems to be quite low at the moment, whereas for the past few years we've been to florida which is fairly cheap.
sorry i forgot to mention we are going self catering
Two main courses, a couple of Pizzas or Spag bols for kids, salad, chips, two ice creams, large water, soft drinks, Jug of sangria or 2 beers.
We didn't shop about though, looking for the best deals etc. and I didn't do any self catering at all apart from a few croissants/rolls/juice/coffee for breakfast.
To be quite honest I didn't find it all that cheap, thought it was on a par with here. I would say 100 Euros a day might cover you, perhaps a bit more.
spain not that cheap now....there are a few places in cboch that do set prices at night 10-12 euros per head......
We stay half board, but most hotels do a set meal for non residents that are reasonable. We sampled the local chinese in Santo Tomas which was fabulous and for 8 of us it worked out to £40.00 for starters, main and a couple of drinks (four kiddies included in that number, but we all all very well!) I would say if you set yourself about £13 a night and £3.00 for lunch and £2.00 for brekkie you would not be far wrong per person. We got rolls in our local shop (very fresh and nice) for lunch for £1.30. I suppose if you have little ones and they are after ice creams all day then it will work out lots more. But most people were buying big bottles of water and a bottle of juice and diluting it so no real cost there.
There are about 40 restaurants around the marina in Calan Bosch so you will have plenty of choice. We have eaten regularly at The Bahia and always found it good value.Last year it cost 35-50 euros for a family of 4.If you intend to eat at your apartment it is well worth going to The Diskont Hypermarket (On the road to Cuitedella). It's the one The Menorcans use and is about 35% cheaper than the small local supermarkets. You can hire a car for a few days with the savings you make!Have a great holiday. We are staying in Ciutadella from 26th June for 2 weeks. Can't wait!
thanks for your replies and tips much appreciated
