This may be a really silly question, in which case forgive me, but humour me lol
Have never driven abroad before, and never been to Cyprus before either lol but when we go next week ( ) will be hiring a car for when we are in Pernera ~ just wondered what parking situation is like if we go to other places, like down to protaras or over to Ayia Napa.
My little boy (5) has problems with his leg bones and so cannot work long distances and think walking down into protaras etc wont do him any good but just wondered ~ do they have specific parking areas, like our car parks, or do they have a just park and leave lol and does parking tend to be free or metered?
Just a thought and wondered if anyone could help (and apologies for a daft question lol)
Many thanks

We've only been to that side of the island once and didn't find parking a
problem. There are carparks in Cyprus but you can park on the road in
certain places. In Agia Napa we parked behind McDonalds and on the road
and had no problem. If you have a blue badge for your son take it too,
I take mine

There is a large car parking area in Protaras between the top road and the "strip". Head for Protaras from Pernera, straight over the traffic lights and then turn left after a couple of hundred yards, immediately after the Brilliant appartments. Follow the road round to the left and you will see the car park in front. I am fairly certain that, last year, it was free parking. It is then just a very short stroll down to the strip - you will come out by Bells & the Zodiac bars so will be fairly central.
Have a great time - 4 weeks tomorrow and we'll be there again (8th time)
Cheers,
Preston
I was going to suggest that carpark but you can park in the side roads off the strip as well. Thats what I do with the scooter and a lot of cars were parked.
As we like to venture off out in the evenings (not clubbing tho lol) he does struggle to walk to far so the 20 odd minutes to protaras would be too much there back and walking around. So to get a car and just nip out and about and make the most of having it is good too, but thanks ever so much for your help
I avoid the parking tickets well in our town here lol but wasnt quite sure how it was going to be for parking in Cyprus....
wooo hoooo 8 sleeps to go
