I travel all the time on my own, have been all over the world. You shouldn't have any problems in Tenerife, choose a nice Hotel with a good pool area and you are good to go. Are you thinking of staying half board or eating out?I think that halfboard might be better as it can sometimes be a bit strange going in to Restaurants alone, but certainly not impossible.
I find people will talk to me when I'm sitting around the pool, you can have as much or little contact with other guests as you want.
Go for it, enjoy yourself, I wish I could come with you.

Go for it.. you will enjoy it and Tenerife is a great place to start. I have a friend who travels alone to tenerife quite regularly and as far as i am aware she has never encountered any problems.

Well i bit the bullet and booked it....

I have told my friends that I will go to the La Vista beach and they can keep an eye on me with the web cam

Travelling alone is actually a lot better than you think it's going to be. I did a week's holiday in California alone, and it was the best holiday I've ever had. Total relaxation.

I have travelled alone for about 4 years. My husband and I go abroad on our own because our children don't like flying. So he will go away for a week by himself for a break, and then a few weeks later I will.
I went to Cyprus on my own last year and I went away to Mallorca a few weeks ago in April. As long as you are sensible you are ok.
I am actuallly thinking of going to Tenerife next year by myself, so have been looking at different resorts.
Its lovely pleasing yourself, doing what you want, when your want, and only yourself to worry about.

I go chatting to a lot of people whilst I was away especially in the hotel restaurant and by the pool. One or two asked my to join them at meals.
So be brave, it is a bit nerve racking at first but you soon relax and will enjoy it.
On another note, I done my holiday DIY this year and it worked out great and a lot cheaper. Didn't pay those rip off single supplements.

i am off to Tenerife in June and am going alone to lie by the pool and relax so i would say go for it!!!

I decided to go to tenerife simply because I know the area.

I would hate to go somewhere that is new to me and get lost.

hi which hotel are you staying at if near la vista beach there is the shops at sandiago centre and and the fountains at night it is lovley when they are going to the music lots to do in tenerife we love it there

You'll have to go to The Soul Suite to see Joe Harriet! The best night is a Saturday and be there reasonably early to get a seat 8.30-9.00pm. If you like soul music this is the place to go and I guarantee you will want to go back again and again! Everybody very friendly in there too! Enjoy!
