Hi There, We are thinking of going to Turkey for the very first time and seek advice from the knowledgeable people on the site.
We are middle aged, but love a good night life. Like to stay in good quality hotels/apartments. Do not like hilly resorts or quiet places.
Can you suggest the places we should be looking at.
Thanks for any help.

Icmeler is the next resort down, and is a lot quieter than its big sister Marmaris - Still with lots to see & do - And a slightly better beach.
Olu has the best beach by far, but a lot quieter with most of the night scene centred around the restaurants - Gorgeous place but with you liking night life would probably bore the pants off you
Alanya again lovely place with beautiful beaches & busy night life - Only dowside i found there that its very geared up for our German & Russian friends and Brits are definetley in the minority
Probably best to get a few brochures and see where takes your fancy - Then make sure you check your chosen hotels against the many reviews on this site
Happy holiday hunting!!

If you drop on the right resort in Turkey you'll love it as we all do, do your homework, but my reccomendation would be Ovacik / Hisaronu area.

i have alot of information on my web site for new travellers and old on the fethiye hisaronu and olu area please feel free to have a look the is also a short download to give an insite as to what to expect from this wonderful country
I recommend the Diamond of bodrum hotel 5* its a great hotel and the food is incredible. we had a great 2 weeks here and the staff and accomodation are fantastic the views second to none. we were here over easter for 2 weeks whilst we furnished our house and when we returned 2 weeks later to stay in our house we went to the hotel for a meal one evening and a couple of drinks. they have live music a few times a week too which is really good. take a look at the website.
Just a line to say thanks for the info so far.
We are the other side of middle age, but not too old to appreciate Icmeler. There are no shortage of bars to suit all astes.
We have stayed in The Marti twice which is still one of my favourite. In two weeks we will be back again but this time to The Munimar which is an A/I.
I have been to Olu Deniz and stayed in The Belcekiz Beach and Olu Deniz Resort both A/I and both great hotels BUT Icmeler still draws me/

Hi toonman, i think icmeler would suit you and yours....by the way the geordie bar is in icmeler....dont think you will miss it...black & white all over....Gavin
Hotel Belckiz beach at Olu Deniz is fantastic. At Olu you are at the bottom of Babadag mountain, the air is fresh and clear. Up the mountain is Hisanarou which takes 5 minutes on the dolmus, in our opinion the air quality was not as good as at the bottom, we felt quite sticky up there.
Anyway, Olu is not overly large and there are ample bars and restaurants to choose from if needed.
There is a lagoon which is 15 minute walk, you have to pay to enter, about 50pence each. Fantastic beach there and the lagoon scenery was so lush.
The hotel itself is near enough on the beach.
Fantastic place, good luck
