Mount Teide is well worth a visit, but it can be difficult to get to as the roads are very windy and narrow in places in and out of all the mountains. it is also very cold at the top ( -20 when we went) so you must wrap up..but the views are just stunning..on a clear day you can see the other islands.. generally we just got in the car and drove in all directions on our first visit, and just pulled off the moterway and stopped to look at quaint little villages..if only i could remember the names of some of them!
There are all the usual places to visit..grab the brochures and then just go...you will love it. We ate in a nice restaurant called Casa Begonsa, somewhere on the way to Los Gigantes, again in a small town whose name i can't remember..but it was literally a stone throw away from Los G. Sorry this is not more helpful....i am rubbish at remembering names!

I have never stayed in Hollywood Mirage. A nice place I understand.

You will have calls to your door from "customer services"

A rather sly name for Resort Properties.

They smile a lot , are there to help and would love you to attend a presentation. They might even say it is in your interest to attend.

They want your money and they want it invested in a holiday club. You but timeshare and sell it later at a profit.

TIMESHARE IS NEVER EVER AN INVESTMENT.

A LOT OF TIMESHARE IS ALMOST WORTHLESS.

I own 10 weeks myself and it suits me grand. I bought all on the re-sale market and I understand that if I wanted to sell some of my weeks I might have to give them away.

I have just received a re-sale list of timeshare and there is a 1 bed apartment in Hollywood Mirage for sale, duplex, for £1,500-00.

Scratchcards free prizes-all rubbish.

Be very careful,

Have a great holiday,

Billyboy.

I went to Mount Teide last year, and thought the views were excellent. You can drive most of the way up, but you will need to get the cable car a couple of thousand feet from the summit if you want to get to within approx 300 feet of summit (can't remember the cost but it was worth it). There are also huge queues at peak times for getting on the cable car. We waited about an hour in August last year (from about 9am in the morning).

I would also recommend a visit to Los Gigantes, where there are impressive cliffs, (i think they're the 2nd largest seas facing cliffs in the world). This year I plan to go back to Los Gigantes for the day, and get a trip on a boat to see the whales and dolphins from Los Gigantes in the knowledge I will also get great views of the cliffs from out at sea.

Our trip to Mount Teide was arranged through Admiral Travel (it was a half day trip at about £10 a head, and included stop offs at villages on the way up and back again-great value). We just used the bus to get to Los Gigantes-v cheap.
