The last update................
After much consideration and thought. (I thank mike for that!) I had to decide what i really wanted from this. It was as you say getting personal and drawn out, I know I was right and the company had done the wrong thing by me, I could keep fighting as I have the insurance to do so but it was time for someone to make a stand. I wanted recogination that they had lied, payment for my treatment and a refund on my holiday. After 2 years of fighting this I decided to settle on a €3000 voucher vaild for 2 years. That will pay for what we lost in holiday, Doctors bills ect. And will pay for the coming holiday that we are planning. My back has finally settled down and I actually started back at the gym last week as long as I remember to take it slow I hope it will should be ok. But I lost my chance to have a run in a marthon. I doubt if I will ever have that kind of fitness again. But hey I can start j0ogging so thats a plus.
Even though I could have proberly have gotten more and that would have taken another year or so. I still feel that I won today.
My advice to travellers - keep all the information, scrapy pieces of paper anything to do with your holiday until you are home safe and sound.
Listen to exactly what the travel Rep says to you when you arrive at the resort.

Never fancied a marathon myself, more of a walker (Leeds to Liverpool along the canal - there's loads of watering holes

Glad you managed to get a result that you felt satisfied with and that your back has settled down. I'm impressed that you saw it through to the end even though it took 2 years of fighting and think you are justified in feeling that you have won.
Thank you for informing us on HT of the outcome, as Mike says often we are left wondering what has happened in a particular case as people forget to report back.
