I was in Riva a few days ago and most of the hotels looked really nice. Someone on here recommended the Europa which is a Best Western hotel. It looks nice but is right on the main square. It would have lovely views but maybe be a bit noisy. I have taken a pic of it if you want to see it, mail me.

I stayed in Limone and only visited Limone.

Hi

It may have been us who recommended the Europa - hubby wasn't too keen at first incase it was noisy but we stayed during their end of August fiesta (fireworks, late late parties, music etc etc) and all of this 'entertainment' was right outside the window! No worries, the rooms are triple glazed and as a result you can hardly hear a thing.
(And I'm a really light sleeper and can't stand noise!) Hubby was well impressed

The Europa is superb!

Hi
I've been to Riva twice, the first time I stayed at the Astoria which is very good. I'm sure I put a review on this website about it, but that was a few years ago now. Anway, just got back from Riva 3 weeks ago after staying in the Gardesana. I was told by the rep that the Astoria is having a conference centre built there at the moment. Don't know when the works are due to be completed or when you are thinking of going, but at the moment I wouldn't go. I would say you should take a look at the Grand Hotel Liberty which is just outside of the main square, on the main road into Riva. I went there 2 nights for the live music on the terrace and it looked a very nice hotel. That's not to say the Gardesana isn't, but its a 20 minute walk into Riva and I think if you're going for your honeymoon you want something a little bit more special.
Hope I haven't posed this too late for you.
