As a girly who has been to the maldives 3 times (just got back 3 days ago from our last trip) i can say to your fiance that she won't need half the clothes she intends to take. The maldives are very casual so no real need to dress up - I took two pairs of flip flop as footwear and nothing else, my hubby didn't have anything on his feet from the day we arived to the day we left as most of the resorts have sand floors in the bars and restaurants so walking in heels or wedges is nigh on impossible.
As for clothes, I took approx 10 daytime tops plus a couple of pairs of shorts and a couple of sarongs plus 3-4 swimsuits.
Evening wear was another lot of tops, plus 3 pairs of cropped trousers and a couple of skirts. Thats it. We've now got packing for the maldives down to the very basics. We had a total baggage allowance of 40kgs but when our cases were weighed, they only came to 32kgs.
Tell her to leave the kitchen sink at home !
Only came home this time with a couple of unworn tops so I know I got the amount i took just about right.

Thanks Cynical, I don't think it will make an ounce of difference to what my Fiance takes but it's worth a try!! Thanks again
