The Havana pool is great if you dont like the pool at your hotel .There is great space between loungers and parasols to move .Also places to eat .It cost 10leva last year for two loungers and a parasol .There is a childs pool there also..It is just up at the top of the steert from the Perunika next to the shops and the Havana restaurant Hope this is of some use to you June :wave

Warning: anyone staying at this hotel. Hotel is GREAT. Lovely staff, comfortable furnishings.... However, DO NOT STAY at the front of the hotel. Last night we had some woman with the most irritating voice (think janet wattserface porter on vocal cord steroids) SHOUTING, not just talking but SCREECHING through a megafone. Yuk. The glass of water beside me looked like the scene in jurrassic park. horrid.

oh well, got a holiday to enjoy (and a moan to the rep as the holiday was sold as a "lively" one... BUT the key description was "lively for bulgaria" any help on legality would be great

Hahaaa. Got to love pished off posting. Last night the noise pollution was pretty low, and we're kinda regretting the nasty written complaint to the rep.

Weather is a bit poo at the moment- v cloudy, but we like this because were aren't particularly beachy-fry people. Bit of rain today, but still warm.

Went to albena today. Nice place :)
Cya tonight DOA, we're going to check out your singing!

Catch you all soon!

Found a 2 week deal for my family and a friend 7 in total for £2300 towards the end of may to tintiava hotel.

Travel agent told us that the prices of holidays to bulgaria have increased a lot over the last couple of years.

I would have preferred going in August time. But seem to have been left with little choice as a similar holiday then is £5000+...

It is a self catering holiday which I prefer as hotel food is very hit and miss in my experience.

My questions are :-

Is this hotel suited to children around 12 years old? Is it noisy?
Can anybody recommend a good travel agent with better deals?
Is the price reasonable?

Weather? What is it likely to be on average mid to end of may?

Any help or comments would be appreciated. Have to decide as soon as I can tho so I can get it booked.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

There's now a REVIEW of this hotel from June this year, which I wouldn't call very good at all, but it depends upon what you want.

This is an old hotel situated in the noisy part of Golden Sands - in the middle of zone B on this MAP. It's on the well named 'party street'.

I'm not too sure why you've mentioned self catering. As far as I know it's an ordinary hotel with no self catering facilities. In any case, self catering is not really possible in Bulgaria due to a lack of supporting food shops.

The weather in May can be warm enough, see HERE.

The problem at this time of year is that the season does not really start until the second week in June and a lot of bars, restaurants and stalls might not be open, and there could be some building work still going on in the resort.

This would be the last hotel I'd take children to- it is the noisiest place I've ever slept in! Bear in mind that I'm now in university and have slept in my mates room *ABOVE* the student union nightclub!

By the end of the fortnight you'd have the grumpiest kids imaginable. If I hadn't let my boyfriend sleep by the sea whilst I bodyboarded, I'd have had the grumpiest boyfriend imaginable as well!
