I am visiting Makunudu on at the end of this month (28th May) can't wait!! So I will let you know what it was like on my return. I am travelling with Qatar Airways, so I won't be able to comment on your Monarch flight. Have you looked at the islands own website, Makunudu.com, this will give you more information.

Arrived back from an absolute fantastic week at Makunudu Island. We did not want to come back at all. Wish we had booked for 2 weeks!

All the staff on the Island were brilliant, you are waited on from the minute you step foot on the island, and nothing was to much trouble for any of them.

The rooms were very lovely and spacious. We had room 12, and although we had our own little beach area, the tide did rise a little quick in the afternoon, which made it very difficult to sunbathe, but you could just take your towel to another beach area on the Island. However, it was too hot anyway so always found something else to do. Rooms 1 - 9 had a nice beach area, but it was shared by those rooms.

Didn't see any Rays, (other people did though), but did swim with a 3 legged turtle twice whilst snorkelling. That was amazing!

The only thing that didn't make the holiday 100% perfect was that the beach was very corally in places, but this did not ruin the holiday in any way.

Food was amazing!
