Hi
I am a single parent and for the last couple of years have only holidayed with my 11year old son as my girls are adults now and usually do their own thing. This year, however my 24year old daughter will be coming on holiday with me too
I am looking at the Greek islands, Corfu, Crete, Zante, Rhodes, Kos as they all seem to be within my budget, but as I will be going the first two weeks of the school summer holidays (end of July) I am concerned I will find it too hot. Is there anywhere on these islands that is a bearable heat the end of July, I know they can be windy in places but would prefer a breeze to keep us cool, rather than a strong wind.
Also I would like somewhere with lots to see and do, but not too commercialised, more authentic greek, but would like a few decent music bars so me and my daughter can have a drink in the evening with my 11 year old son in tow
My main concern being the heat in July, I could just about handle Turkey in May/June a couple of years ago so am hoping for about the same heat for the Greek Islands in July
Any suggestions?
Try looking on holiday weather, this will give you averages for each month for different places
I will also recommend Halkidiki which a very nice holiday destination for families, within easy access of the airport in Thessaloniki. There lots of sandy beaches, very friendly locals, lots of things for children to do, excellent and very reasonable accommodation options. If you need more information you can post here your questions and i will be very glad to answer to you.
There's a big wide world out there
I think you are going to find it very hot in july well into the 30-40s
