Hi
I am thinking of going to Costa Dorada in September but don't know what there is to do...we like relaxing but also like to get out and about and see some "culture" if possible.
Any there any archaelogical sites here?
Are there some "traditional" places to visit or is it a concrete jungle designed for tourists??
Thanks
It is of course a modern resort which means big and new hotels, but the older side of the town - towards Cambrils still retains the Catalan feel
Anther resort perhaps considering is Sitges a little further up the coast. Which seems to be very much a resort for the Spanish. No major develpments and appeared to be very laid back. You should be aware though that this resort is one of the most popular for the Gay community throughout Europe.
As for Culture, you can't beat Barcelona - Far too much for me to go into here, but plenty of advice on other posts on this board. Easy to get to from the resorts. Well worth a separate holiday in itself.
Than ks for that scoop - I didnt even realsie that was where Salou was!!!
If you are looking for Archealogical sites then you can't beat Tarragona, ten minutes by train from Salou. The Romans occupied Tarragona and the place is seeped in history, with an old town, ampitheatre and modern shopping centre it is a wonderful place.
HI ....see family things to do in Salou . I have give it a nudge to the top of forum for you.
