Hi folks,
My wife and I have decided on a nice relaxing holiday in Rhodes - so no cooking!
Is it expensive to eat out in Rhodes, I mean is it likely to cost us €50 a night plus €20 for lunch etc?
The reason I'm asking is because we are still dithering over which board to go (B&B/SC/HB ) and I haven't been able to find any indicative prices in any of the brochures / Google.
I will probably have more questions but I'll start of with this one.
Thanks

Rhodes can be as expensive---------or as cheap as you want. Generally speaking avoid places with waiters in dickie bows, and fresh flowers on the table. Look instead for smaller taverna type places, especially if there are Greeks eating there, the food will be just as good, probably better. Some places do a buffet style eat all you can type, evening meals for around 8 euros a head and these are very good value.Places in the Old Town near the squares will always be expensive, go off the beaten track a bit. Hope that helps. Anne
I can only speak about Pefkos as it's the only place I have been (10 times) i also lived there for 3 months from November to February so I have eaten in Lardos, Rhodes town, Gennadi and Afandou You can go and find a kebab for around €2. Starters such as houmous €2.50, prawn cocktail €4. Main courses moussaka €5, fillet steak €11. Puddings €3. It depends where you go on the island as to how cheap it will be. Rhodes town can be dearer, Lardos village cheaper. I personally wouldn't go half board as Greek people tend to eat food at a lower temp then we are used to and it can get pretty cool on a buffet. Plus I like to get out and about and explore and eat what I want when I want
If you get off the beaten track and up in the villages the prices are much cheaper again.
This way we will probably eat out a handleful of nights plus most lunch times. It looks like it isn't going to be overly expensive when we do decide to eat out though
