We stayed close to this hotel about two years' ago and there was no building work going on then, but you never know with Tenerife. It is not far from the beachfront. Most of the area is now build up and you will definitely see a difference. We have been going to this area for about 14 years. By Tenerife standards it is quite quiet in the evening. The beachfront has now been fully landscaped and you can walk all the way to La Caleta (small fishing village), passing the area of El Duque which has some very upmarket, hotels, shops and a few restaurants. It has definitely improved since the last time you were there, however Los Christianos and the centre of Las Americas does not seem to change that much. If you do go, pop into the Colonial Bar - opposite the De Lagos Fanabe apartments. From outside, it does not look very inviting, but if you step inside you will find it a very good friendly bar with good service and staff. It is probably the best bar in that part of the resort.

Hi, thanks for this. Only received notification this morning because of web problems. Very helpful, will certainly visit bar. It's a gamble wherever you go if you've not been before or for a long time. Thanks again.
