Hi Phippsy

We took english and lira. Everything is priced in both and they do seem to prefer english though. When you buy anything in the shops at the hotel whichever currency you use you will get your change in a mixture of currencies.

We did notice that the indoor shop downstairs had a really good exchange rate when we were there (25 May - 8 June). 286 lira to the pound we got 236 at home. :offtop sorry mods

Can't help with the kids den rooms but to be honest none of the rooms were far away from everything.

thankyou for your info with ref to the late rooms, can you tell what time you arrive and deaprt in turkey, as ihave just spoken to first choice customer ervices and thay state, that if your flight is bak to front ie leeds/bradford and exeter then you still have the room upuntil 1200 the day you fly, but if you arrived in the middle of the night or midnight and you don't fly until 2-3am then you have to vacate your room, does this make sense??!!!

to themcs,

thanks, i think that is probably ther way ahead

Having been to the hotel twice now i feel i am qualified to make this comment.

You went last year and it seems just because you did not enjoy yourself you seem determined to try and upset people and put people off. I think the time now has come for you to move on from this thread.

When i went this year i met some very nice people and independantly your name came up as someone who just posted negative things.

Obviously you ended up in a family hotel and because of that you and your partner being a bit more senior lets say, even if you go to the gym 3 times a week.

You didnt like the place you have made that point time and time and time again. Now is the time to move over and let the people who have been this year and had either a great time which seems to be most or bad time post away!

Glad you liked Benidorm and your cruises and as we are all different you are welcome to those places as i am sure if i went to or on these i would have just as much to moan about as you found with the PP.

The times of formal dinners my friend seem to be disappearing and people like to relax on holiday and whilst i never wore shorts in the restaurant i wore 3 quarter length trousers and would not even waste my energy in getting bothered by something so trivial as someone else wearing shorts. Each to their own!

Rock on PP for a great rest of the season! :D

Hi Phippsy

We had a kids den and I am afraid we were not impressed. They are exactly the same size and shape as a small family room. The only difference is blue and yellow walls with a border and 4 pictures and the bunk beds have sheets with a tiny bugs bunny applique on the them. You get only one tv like a small family room despite the brochure wording. If I had known this I would have much rather saved myself the £224.00 supplement and gone with the small family room which our friends had. :(

Best wishes

Hi. I must admit i havent been on this web site since last year.We went to pp last august and despite a very bad lead up to departure, we had a fantastic time  Its what you make of it. Im supprised to hear people are still moaning about the place  If people want to wear shorts in the evening then they should be allowed to  As long as they are decent. My husband wore shorts a couple of times and nothing was said.If you want a hotel that does allow you to wear shorts in the restaraunt, then go to the Dereta baech in rhodes. They are brilliant 8)

Hi all

I have just returned today from the pegasus palace, and had a whale of a time, the hotel is the cleanest one i have been too, they are constantly sweeping or polishing and emptying bins.

The turkish are very friendly especially in the local village of sarigerme, we caught the dolmus bus outside the hotel gates for 1 lira each way, or you can catch the taxi for 7.5 lira each wayor walk like we did when we ran out out of money at the market lol

the atm has no money in it at the mo so the nearest is in ortaca but the guides on our eco venture stopped at one for some people.

The rooms are very spacious we had a double family room which was adequate but i met up with julie (munskinn) and her room she had a select jacuzzi room which was very nice indeed, it also had a couple of smaller pools behind it. So for a bit more i would personally go for one of them.

Both my kids did swim kids and soccer school (pre booked in the uk)
and they throughly enjoyed both.

They were both non swimmers going out and they now can swim like little fish (im so proud of them) Vicky was their instructor and she was excellent that after my 5 half hour sessions i booked some private sessions out there for £15 for both of them.

Soccer school were also excellent and they had their photo taken with thier team mates and the guys were brilliant with Holly who had never even kicked a ball before.

As for the food it was out of this world, the variety and quality available it was ace, i enjoyed the desserts in the restaurant and the chicken kebabs at snack time.

My only snag was the kids club was £2 almost every other night which means £4 for me as i have 2 kiddies, and the high ropes session was £8, but worth it.

I wish i had taken more sterling they love english money but i took travellers cheques tobe safe.

we did a couple of excursions with FC and they were great value for money.

im not going to waffle on but if anyone has any questions dont hesitate to ask.

oh! the weather is lush at the mo, evenings getting a bit sticky with heat, wish i were still there.

i seem to remember last year that the shops in the complex were priced in lira and ruro's and you had to ask how much it was in sterling, is this still the case?

nonnielane, glad you had a good time, are they still doing the free ice-creams at the beach bars?

Hi Nonnielane

Glad to see you had such a good time.
Im glad you said the soccer school was good as i have pre booked 4days which is £55 in august so im glad your kids enjoyed it.
How old are they for the high ropes?
Also (cheeky one) how much did you spend and on what sort of things.....dont want to take too much as ill prob spend it if ive got it but on the other hand dont want to be travelling 20mins if cash machine in Sarigerme empty.
Planning on doing any trips with Mustafa and using credit card.
Without sounding tight i was hoping not to spend too much being as it is AI i feel that normally when i go SC most of my money goes on food and drink so thats already covered!!!!! (sound a right tight :swear now!!!!)

Vicky whos so happy that this back online :D :D :D

Just been reading the latest reviews and it has been mentioned there again about undercooked chicken and also mouldy bread and off milk.........have people who have been this year found this to be a common problem?????
Undercooked chicken especially worries me......the people who found these undercooked/off foods did you complain so that it didnt happen again.
I dont want to be ill myself from undercooked food but i certainly dont want my 5yr old and baby (who i plan to feed from the hotel restaurant) to be ill.

This is the only 1 worry i have about this hotel now everything else sounds fantastic!!!!!

Lol Climbingscousers, I can only imagine! Maybe you could arrange a trial before your actual wedding. I saw two weddings out there this week and everyone looked really happy.

There is a spa in the hotel and I'd think that maybe a few of the girls in there might be qualified beauticians. Maybe it might be worth emailing the hotel and asking them? The email address is info@iberostarsarigerme.com

BTW for everyone else, the hotel has a new website. Its http://www.iberostarsarigerme.com its all in Turkish mind you, but I'm sure you'll get the jist of the place.
