Is it the Mavi Akdeniz... if so, its fine! Nothing grand, but clean and friendly.

Hi, we stayed at the Akdeniz a few years back and it was fine. Turkish breakfast by the pool, rooms were very basic but clean. It is in a good position on the main road to the beach. At the end of the day it is not luxury but fine just to sleep in.

Thanks for your replies. It does sound pretty basic but its good to hear its clean, I did read somewhere about someone finding a huge cockroach in the hotel toilets.

We've also taken a chance this year with the gulet. Leaving it to vision holidays to book us onto one of the gulets that sail from Fethiye to Marmaris. Fingers crossed

I think that was me, with the cockroach in the loo.

But to be fair it was a loo beneath the swimming pool, not one inside the hotel. But it was big

Hi have you travelled with Vision Holidays before?

The reason I ask, is we went to Ovacik in October last year with them, and their service was non existant. There was no rep to meet us at the airport and we did not see a rep from the company the whole week we were there.
All the other reps were visiting the hotel we stayed at, but noone from vision ever surfaced!!
It could have been something to do with the fact the hotel we stayed at was really poor, maybe they had loads of complaints earlier in the season, and they thought they wouldnt come over ic case we wanted to move!!!
Good job we made the best of our holiday, but I dont know what we could have done, if we had a real problem!!
yes it was a cheap and cheerful holiday, but I can now see why!!!
Hopefully yours will be OK, you will love Olu Deniz regardless of what your accommodation is like. Have a great holiday!!

Sounds like you have a bargain , what time of year are you going to Olu and Gulet cruise.
I find if the staff and resort are good the accomadation does not matter unless of course its dirty, which your hotel is not so I am sure you will have a great time.
Always fancied a Gulet cruise myself so may give it a try.

Is the Akdeniz the same as the Mavi Akdeniz as the reply from perfume says?

If so then it is now called the Dorian.

I am looking at this complex for my Wife and I in early June and am getting quoted a superb price (£259 All Inclusive for a week!!).

I got prices for the same week for other Hotels (All AI) for comparison from the Agent. These were:
Tropicano: £267
Alize: £359
Sun City: £389

We have stayed at the Sun City before and found it great but the price for the Dorian is VERY hard to resist.
