Hello
I am getting married at the end of August 2007 and we would really love to know which resort would be the most magical for a romantic tropical-style beach holiday? - once in a lifetime type thing! We'd like to go All Inclusive. Our options are Mauritius, Maldives, Antiguia or Figi (unless anyone has any other suggestions?). Problem is we're worried about hurricaine season in carribean, the weather, we've heard is not garaunteed in Mauritius at that time of year, and we have no idea what the Maldives or Figi are like! We have a budget of about £4000.
Any advice would be gratefully received! Also any hotel recommendations would be really appreciated.
Thank you very much.
Rachel
You could always try SUN ISLAND, they have now introduced a Wedding Moon In Paradise Package (You have your own exclusive island for the night

They also cater for a romantic meal for 2 (at any location on the island of your choosing)... Info here: http://www.roomallot.com/raprop_downloads/mle/9802/Romantic%20Dinner%20Menu.pdf
Cost for 2 people at Sun Island on AI for 2 weeks (Well we have booked for October and it cost us £2800, that includes Seaplane Transfer and room upgrades to Superior Deluxe) Last time we went we couldn't find much else to spend our money on and probably only spent £100 the whole 2 week.
Is there much to do in maldives as it looks from the brochure that it is the beach and the hotel and thats about it. Where do you go for your meals, nightly entertainment etc....we too are also looking to go all inclusive.
Thanks

Each self contained island is your hotel complex - some are small and can be walked round in a matter of minutes, others (like Sun Island, one of the largest island) will take around 45mins to 1 hour to walk round. Most islands will have between 100 - 1000 guests, so no overcrowding
All your meals are taken in the restaurants on the island as is the nightly entertainment --- usually the bigger the island the more restaurants and bars it will have.
As for things to do - you can do as little or as much as you like. Each island has it's own activities and most brochures or websites will list these.
Most people just like to snorkel or dive along the reefs and spot all the different kinds of fish, rays & sharks...
With reference to your description of the Maldives being a retreat,I totally agree. After a day on the beach, going back to your room and preparing to get ready for your evening meal.We would watch the sun go down, from what seemed our private beach. We stayed in the deluxe rooms in which the walk to the water was about 10 seconds.Quite offten a breeze would blow in the evening, with trees swaying on our private beach.Looking out to sea with lights showing from the neighbouring islands.
Then strolling to the restaurant to enjoy a fantastic meal with excellent service..............
