Hi all,
My no.2 son is taking his little family to Protaras in July/Aug this year.
As the littlest one is only 1 year old I have advised him he wld be better with an apt. Thing is tho, as it's his first time away with the kids he wants a really good apt. Nothing like what his Mum put up with, as in a 2 ring cooker sitting on the sink
Not being my area, I could use some advice pls.
Ta,
Janet
would he consider a private rental, at least with these you get all your home comforts, after renting privatley it is extremely hard to go back to holiday packages.I dont think you save much but it is well worth the extra to have everything to hand, especially with a little one there is also a hire place in Protaras where you can hire most things you need for a baby,

Yes, I'm sure he would if he can match up the flights.
Only problem is.... how do you know if you are getting a reputable one, I know the Limassol area ok, but nothing about Protaras.
If it came recommended from someone who had been there that wld be fine, which is where I'm stuck.
Cheers,
Janet

I am afraid I cant help you with recommendations for private apartments in the centre of Protaras,
There are plenty private ones just further along in the Kapparis/Pernera area . I understand about the 2 ring thing its a nightmare if you take a family, we went with our grandchildren a few years back when ours was being built and we decided to go private to get a feel for it so to speak am I glad we did the youngest was poorly and vomited from the minute we got of the plane until 2 days before we went home, Was i glad we had the washer , and full size cooker to use , we could.nt even go out for a meal as she was that poorly.
I cant think of any with more than 2 rings though, we did S/c at the Brillant years ago and found that was adequate , but i cannot remember what the cooking facilities were like, but in all that heat i dont think you eat as much anyway but the bottom apartments that faced away from the pool had lovely big balconies. and the pool area was all level with no stairs we liked it in the Brillant handy for the strip and beach but set back a bit away from the noise.
It will be very hot for a little one in July/ August - our grandchildren were too hot some days in October!
He is actually going out to research the area with a view to setting up a business there, and is doubling up as a family holiday. This is the reason he has to go during school holidays, plus he wants to judge 'footfall' in the area during the busy season.
All of the normal tourist apartments would suit me fine, but I know they would be much happier with some home comforts in a quieter place. With this in mind, think I shld maybe look to the areas outside Protaras itself.
Advice as to the surrounding areas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Janet
He should take a look at http://www.cypruseastern.com as most private rentals are outside Protaras but still within easy reach in Pernera/Kapparis/Paralimni area. We do not rent ours out but some of the others do . There is also http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk
I have sent you a pm with more details,
Elizabeth
