mozzies were about in the ampitheatre i never got bit until i was in there on a night, the wasps were getting worse at the endof our two weeks but we had a letter posted under the room door that they were spraying the next day .

i would pre book swim kids and soccer school, as its cheaper and you are guaranteed also i pre booked 2 day session of soccer and had the option to book more but the kids loved it but not that much so we just did the 2 day one.

our flight was at 6am and we had to get out the afternoon before, but the reception area is big and has lovely seating up there, also the lobby bar is open 24hrs.

Can anyone tell me if there is a cashpoint machine near by, or if the hotel has this facility?

Thanks
Reply
no cashpoint in the hotel but hav made a suggestion to them as the one in the village wasnt working due to having no sattellite signal.

but you can catch a bus to ortaca from the palace gates to the nearest one

Before leaving the PP this morning, spoke to the First Choice rep who informed me that the Tropical is being sold off for 2007 and will no longer be part of the Holiday Village Turkey. She also said that you would not be able to use the facilities at the Tropical (altho guests could still use the wedding gazebo) and she does not know who is going to buy it for next year.

:? :hmmm I've got confused now i'm going in August 2007 to The holiday Village Turkey. Is this the Palace Hotel??

What is the difference in the two hotels??
Reply
my understanding of the Holiday Village is that it will be the Palace. Tropical has been sold and after October you will no longer be able to use both Hotel facilites.

there were so many rumours about the hotels that i wouldnt listen to any all you need to know that you will have a great time, i wouldnt have known the tropical was there and i think it would be vice versa, its a fantastic location and the team there great.

i would go back in a flash but the price i paid last year was reasonable but now its a stupid price for next year

Can anyone who's been there already tell me if they provide milk to drink as part of the 'all inclusive' deal as my 14 month old likes 2 8oz drinks of milk a day?

Also, if they do, is it skimmed / semi-skimmed / whole?
Reply
They only had milk at breakfast I think but it was by all the tea/coffee machines so I would have thought you could ask at the bar for some.
I think it was semi skimmed but not sure.

hi mum22, one of the barstaff made my baby a hot chocolate one night so there must be milk behind the bar not sure if its whole, semi or what but it tasted ok and ahe drank it and he did'nt charge us for it

Hi didnt use the laundry service as someone said it was very expensive, sorry don't know how much just think it wasnt worth the money!

Yes you can ask the bar staff at night to fill your baby's bottle with milk. I saw another ht member (footballswampie) do this on most nights for his little boy. Perhaps if he's reading he can let you know what he did.

P.S. Just to go back a few pages of thread about the broken room key. Mine broke too and I refused to pay the £10 as I had already paid a £10 deposit for an extra card. I asked to see the manager and pointed out that I would be happy to pay £10 if I'd lost the card but as I hadn't and it must have been a weak card, I wasn't paying. He happily gave me a replacement for nothing, whereas the torn faced receptionist I was dealing with wasn't going to budge on it!

Morning Hargreaves,
This weather is really doing the job getting us all ready for the holiday.

Hi nonnielane
Just read your last post a little worried because I was gonna book my son into the soccer school which I believe is at the PP but we are at the PT, has anyone stayed at the PT and their kids have gone to the soccer school? I thought the two hotels were right next to each other?

Hi The Wilson's.

We are flying out on the 24th July"¦ Night flights but never mind, we can sleep by the pool the next day, but I think excitement and adrenaline get you through.

I have booked my boy into soccer school and we are going to Tropical from what I can gather the sites are back to back and you can use each others facilities and restaurants.

I'm up for some beer and BBQ - gets you in the mood. :glynis :sun :glynis

when you booked your son in did you have to choose dates straight away or are you given them over there?

Hi, We're off on Monday 21st August and like most of you can't wait. Boys 11 & 13 want to go to soccer school and I have't booked them in yet. Was going to do it there but think I'll phone up today and get them booked in for a least 2 days. We're in a jacuzzi suite and wondered if they were all in one area. Should be be asking for a certain area? ie over looking pool or whatever and is there any area we should avoid. Do the rooms have tea and coffee making facilities.. like my cuppa in the morning to get me going and wondered if I should take my travle kettle. Also think I read that the hairdryers were useless.. anymore info on that..should I take my own? Whats' the price difference then from booking trips through FC or going to Sarigerm. If it's only a couple of quid I'd rather go with FC as should anything happen at least you'd have some come-back.
Any info gratefully received
