city breaks.... oooh there are so many i would go to again and again.. Barcelona, Madrid, Prague, Copenhagen, Rome, Milan and Edinburgh.. but not necessarily in that order...and one place i have never been but would love to is Vienna..
For a city break I would say either Rome or New York loved them both.
oh forgot ive been to madrid aswell
Florence and Pisa are also beautiful cities. In particular Florence.(Firenze as the locals call it)...REALLY stunning. Only a short couple of hours flight away too.
i agree goa is unbelievable ,,the first 3 days are a shock but after that you will be hooked, not youre normal lively holiday ,,just beautiful beaches every thing at a slow pace,i cant describe the feeling ,the smells the smiles, the people ,,the food ,,all a great experience,i recomend everyone should go even if its just once,(1 time turns to2,3,4,5 )also were else can you get weather so hot in the winter months ,,not forgetting the cheapness you wont believe how cheap things are,we go to turkey 3 times a year and now i dont buy anything because you can get it in goa for less than 75% of the price ,not including clothes of course ,
Tenerife is fantastic as long as you choose a hotel/apartment in a good location. I would recommend any accomodation in the Parque Santiago/Mare Nostrum area of Playa de las Americas
Lanzarote is one of the most wonderfully unique places you will ever see - you either love it or hate it - we adore the place and want to buy property out there when we 'grow up'
Fuerteventura is big and empty and HOT! The resorts (from what we saw on our day trip from Lanza) are busy with lots to do for families and couples and we're really looking forward to next Easter in Caleta.
The main thing we like about the Canaries is the sunshine (same latitude as Florida/Bahamas) and the lovely breeze which makes the heat bearable. Oh, and the short-ish flight time is good too! The first time we flew to Lanza we got a 'tail wind' and got there in 3 hours 45 mins only about an hour longer than the flight to the Costa del Sol
Are you looking for just sunshine holidays?
If not then, as you mention Tunisia, take a look here
A good time to go is September to early November when the weather is ideal.
Of course if you like luxury then it would be a struggle, especially if you opted for anything that involves camping.
I'm going again in December (only time I can go because of children and school plus I work in a seasonal hotel), and we drive, so need about 4 weeks in total.
Lots of people on the Tunisia Forum do the 2 days desert trip, and say how wonderfull it is. Well believe me, if you were to spend 4-7 days in the desert, at say Ksar Ghilane, which does have a luxury hotel with pool, you would discover much more.
Organised by the right company these holidays are excellent for kids, especially if others are there too.
There are so many options; fly drive, camel treks, passenger in 4x4, take your own 4x4 (if you have one) and the holidays can be tailored to your needs.
After a week of seeing the desert you could then spend a second week lounging around a pool washing away the fine desert sand.
I hope this may appeal, it is different but great fun.
Read the posts on the Tunisia forum under "desert trips" you'll soon get the idea.

Without a doubt I think Croatia was the best place I have been to. The scenery is amazing, the people are wonderful, so kind and friendly. The food is super, and best of all, it is safe. Great to go to a place where there are no neds and no crime, and is also spotless. I cannot praise it enough, but should be keeping it a secret.
thanks digby, like Bulgaria ,Croatia was a place id never even thought about but i know a couple who have just returned from there and they loved it
Here is an area in Bali (Nusa Dua) i stayed in the early 90's....
http://www.baliforyou.com/bali/bali_travel/nusa_dua.htm
Next i think is Hong Kong & surrounding area followed by Singapore for shopping.
Thailand both bangkok & the beach resorts ie Pattaya was an experience.
I love Paphos especially the Louis Paethon AI complex for family type holidays.
Fuerteventura & Lanzarote ive loved for winter holidays & would visit again many times.
Corsica i have always liked to not promote as its free of lager louts (or was 10 years ago) & you can go from beautiful beaches to snow capped mountains in a matter of hours.
Belgium/Luxemberg/France for touring is wonderful.
The States (listed as a whole as so many differing areas).
Place ive never made it to is Canada/Oz & doubt if i will now but was always on my wish list.
Very difficult to sum up any best holiday as theyve all got memories
