Thanks Zahara for taking the time to give us an update on what's happening in Goa, i remember the Seagull Restaurant, what are they actually building, or are they just revamping the place :? It's good to know Maggies are having a swimming pool built, hopefully for a few Rupp's we may be able to use it  Nice to know your enjoying your Sunday Roasts (hope your mum don't read this) Take care and keep us up to date with all what's going on.

Great to here the update on whats happening down holiday rd. as it,s te area we stay in. The big building behind Daytripper is a Kasmiri project, as usual, for selling the usual Kashmiri stuff. Daytripper is taking over new premises in it and were to take occupancy last Oct.!! Eddie is hoping for this Oct but is'int holding his breath. Alan

Hi Crystalscan - we're not quite sure what it's going to be at Seagulls - someone mentioned restaurant below and accomodation above but we have only seen Andy (the owner) whizzing past us in his car while we get p****ed wet through on the scooter!

Thanks for the info on the funky building Gramps - it seems so strange to see Day Tripper's little office now with that towering thing behind.
Theres also another unusual building sprung up just past the ice factory that has rounded turrets and sprial staircase things. On the whole the weather hasn't been too bad so far so they are cracking on with all the developments - massive progress has been made on some in Candolim ie Highland Holiday Homes and another near Candolim Beach road.

US pizza opposite Day Tripper has improved over the last month - its a Sify internet cafe too (have got new faster connections), better a/c and the owner has spent over 2 lakh's importing a proper coffee machine(although still not as good as Cafe Day) from Italy as well as creating a cafe upstairs, games room and mini-bakery bit at the front. He's also invested in a decent network linked printer/scanner and enhanced all the phone connections (ie to home is 4 rups per minute). Should be popular next season although at 60 rupees per hour for internet its not quite as bargainous as the 30 rupees ones in Calangute Central.

If you haven't been to Royal Foods its well worth a visit. Chicken malai (skewered b-b-q chicken) for 40 rupees (10-14 pieces depending on how big your smile is!!) and a fresh roti for 8 - it was really popular during the domestic season and lots of locals get their chicken from there.
Promise I'm not on commission for anybody!!!!

The owners of the Seagull ( Andrew Kevin and Sylvester ) are making the restaurant smaller an ading a few rooms this year ad possibly a few more next year. They already have a small hotel just off the Baga road which opened in October or November and seemed to do pretty well last season. The hotel is called Cassa Therasa and it is off to the left part way down Baga road from Calangute. B
