I received a message from Van saying you were back after not being able to access your site a few weeks ago. I visited your new website but could not log on, then I forgot my password. I have tried everything and in the end I have had to use my husbands email address and re-register. I am not happy with this as it happened once before and I lost all my points and was listed as joining in 2004 when, in fact, I had joined a lot earlier. My user name has not changed, just my email address and password now I have had to re-register. Now it means I will have use my husband's email address every time I want to look at HT, which is every night. It won't accept on mine, using my own email address because it says that address is registered to another user - yes, that's me, so why can't I log on?

My username is the same - babs2003. I had to re-register because when I entered my email address to request a new password it rejected it because it belonged to another user - ME. So I used my husband's email address. I have just been on my own site and logged on without a problem but I am now listed as a new user when I have been a member for about 4yrs. I have lost all my PM's, of course.

I was wondering how Babs managed to register a name that was already taken. I have just checked and Babs' previous name was babs 2003 with a space. Her new one doesn't have a space.

Perhaps you could try again with a space between babs and 2003. Click on the Forgotten Password link if you can't remember it.

Because Babs2003 and Babs 2003 (with and without the space) are different names as far as the software is concerned, they are treated differently.

Perhaps Luci's suggestion might work.

I have not received a pm in Babs 2003 because, as I explained, I could not access it when I visited your new address because I had forgotten my password. I did not realise that there was a space between either. Now I have re-registered using babs2003 (without realising it), will I be able to log on using Babs 2003 when it logs me on automatically as babs2003 (if you know what I mean?

No, it won't do it:-

Entered username: Babs 2003

Entered forgotten password

Entered username again

Entered email address - my own

Came up invalid email address - different from one registered for username

(I changed my email address some time ago but if I enter my old email address that won't do either)

Frustrated now.

Hi Babs ... Fiona is not here at the moment, I'm not sure if she will be back on again tonight.

It is frustrating, but at least you are here, which is more than some members have managed since our recent technical problems began. Perhaps one of our Admins will be able to look at your original account tomorrow, and hopefully find a way of overcoming the problem. They may need to verify what e-mail addresses you are using, but that information can be exchanged via PM. Meantime just continue logging in with your new username and password, your husband's e-mail address should not be needed during the log in process.
