Hi,
I will be travelling to Luxor (Crocodile Island) on Monday and will be taking my laptop with me to sort out all the photo's I will be taking. The Question I would like answering is do I have to declare that I will be taking it in to the country, or is this for just Egyptians returning home ?
Also is the mains voltage enought to power a laptop.
Many thanks in advance
Afraid I can't answer your question, however do really want to spend your time messing with your photos whilst on holiday (plus the hassle of keeping your laptop safe), relax and enjoy yourself. If you are going to be taking loads and loads of pictures, why not just take some extra memory cards or visit an internet cafe and upload them.
If you take some kind of receipt with you it should not be a problem, it is unlikely that anyone will even ask about it. however security is still very high so everything is going through the scanners. Like rob says why not just take loads of pictures and have them put on a CD, it is not a problem in Luxor. The voltage will be Ok but...........it can vary a bit, my own experience of laptops in hot conditions is that the batteries seem to run down faster or require sticking in the fridge for half an hour or so. It is so bright that you will struggle to see the screen when outside and you certainly won't want to be inside. Do have a lemon sorbet or a Blackberry ice cream while your there, droooooool, sluuuuurp.
