Hi,
We are going to Ayia Napa in October with our 15 month old son and obviously I will have to buy nappies out there. I am presuming Pampers will be quite expensive and I just wondered if anyone had been with an Infant and purchased local nappies. If so, can you remember what they were called and where they any good?
12 weeks and counting, can't wait.
Karen
Well no but you would be best to buy what the locals buy, my daughter has brought or two children here using the local brands, a lot cheaper than Pampers..P.S I guess you wont do this but I have seen it done many times, do not despose of them down our loo's here, they just wont take it...have a good stay..
We have been to Cyprus before but not with our little one so I know about your toilets anyway but thanks.
Karen
having a little one ourselves we took a few nappies with us to get through the first couple of days then brought some out there. Most supermarkets sell Pampers but are a lot more expensive than the bigger supermarkets (i.e ones in Debenhams dept stores) these are a lot cheaper. Even managed to get Papmpers pull ups!!
Don't know where the nearest Debenhams is in Ayia Napa as we go to paphos.
Also can buy Johnsons baby wipes/shampoo etc as well
Hope this helps

came back today nappies are really expensive. i took a large pk of pampers with me and just and i mean just managed 2 weeks with my 18month old!! i got round it by taking swim nappies with me and she was in them all day and pampers at night
He will also be in swim nappies most of the day, it is only night that I think we will need them. Thanks for the tip about the large one lasting you just. We are limited for weight (probably like you) so I am just trying to review the best solution for us.
I am nervous about going away with him cause this will be our first time. Worried about breaking his sleeping routine, etc. I am sure we will all have a great time.
Thanks again.
Karen
also the weight wasnt a problem, i was over in my suitcase but at check in i explained that my suitcase contained nappies wipes etc.
as explained i took a lg pk nappies, 1 lg pk wipes, 2 pks disposable swim nappies and 2 washables. i used the disposables when expecting a no2 and then switched to washables. without the washables i would have been up the creek without a paddle if you know what i mean
hope this helps
hi,i'm taking my 18 month old to protaros in 5 weeks. i was worried about routine, but then i realised he'd nap later in day been out and about so we'll cool off chill out then, and he'll be up much later so should go to bed ok. no dought he'll nod off in buggy while were out and i'll just transfer him to cot when we get in. not easy i know but they adapt and in the heat they'll be shattered an more than likely sleep better. my son has eczmae(excuse the spelling) so i'm more nervous about heat making him more itchy, any help with this would most appreciated? have a great time and dont worry!
