Hi, has anyone been to the Hawaii Grand hotel in Limassol this year?
Can't find any reviews on it.
Also is it a good hotel to take a 3 year old? lots to do?
Have also read about the Mediterranean Beach and this looks a nice hotel, is there lots to do for the youngsters?
Usually go to paphos as we love this part of Cyprus, but the hotel we normally go to don't offer anything for young ones. So decided we might try Limassol again, went a few years back.
Any tips would be most grateful
Sally
The Miramare also has a kid's club and is in the tourist area bit away from the main road, but on the beach.
All are good 4 or 5 star hotels.

Hi Sally,
I am off to the Hawaii Grand 1 week on sunday and booked through airtours prestige(getting married). I have 2 kids aged 2 and 4 and am told the kids club is available.

Have a look at the hotel video on their website.

I've not stayed there myself, but I am acquainted with the hotel manager, Demetris Tsangaras. It was one of the hotels on my Rotary Clubs shortlist when we were looking for somewhere to hold our weekly meetings and it hosted the Rotary District Conference a couple of months back.
You will not be disappointed.
Regards,
I must say that the hotel does look lovely. Only worried as we always go to Paphos as we love it loads and know where everything is. Reading reviews on Limassol a lot of people don't like it. Its been 4 years since we've been to Limassol, has it changed loads? I do like to look at all the shops ( typical woman i suppose). Whats the walk like down to the main part of Limassol, would we need a car? Also looking at Le Meridien, Amathus Beach and Mediterranean
Beach, if anyone has any info on these too
ta Sally
Le Meridien & the Mediterranean are both good hotels. You should also look at Londa (which is where we decided to have our Rotary meetings).
All the hotels are quite a distance from the town centre which is more business oriended than Paphos (whose economy is overwhelmingly dominated by tourism & servicing the needs of retired expatriates living there).
The touristy part of Limassol is at Potamas Germasogia - a few minutes walk from Londa but a good 20 - 30 minute walk from the other hotels mentioned.
To get into Limassol town itself, you can take one of the regular buses or a taxi. I would cetrainly recommend you hire a car - take a look at the mountains villages and other parts of the island.
Regards,
I have also stayed at the Londa and it was really good too! It is in the middle of the tourist strip with a wide choice of bars clubs and restaurants. It was 4 years ago though!! but also has its own beach gym etc. All of the rooms were deluxe studios with sky tv and sea or side sea views.

The Londa's been completely refurbished over the past couple of years.
Take a look at: http://www.londahotel.com/

Hi Sally,
Carol,
My PMs to you are stuck in my Outbox and won't send for some reason!
I live in Limassol and know most of the hotels.
Just to give you an idea
The Meridian is the furthest from Town - you would definitely need a car. It is an exclusive hotel and only allow residents in, so I have never been there! There are no restaurants or shops nearby.
The Hawaii Grand is a beautiful hotel and caters for children. There are a few restaurants and pubs across the road, but not much in the way of shops. You would need a car.
The Amathus, Mediterranean and Four Seasons are at the end of the main tourist area. All excellent hotels With all of these you need a sea view room unless you want to face the busy main road along the front. They all cater for children. There are many restaurants nearby, but only a few tourist shops.
The Londa Hotel does not cater for children - I asked!
The Apollonia is in the main tourist area - lots of shops and restaurants nearby and not too far into town.
The Miramare is a lovely hotel down a quiet road and right on the beach. It caters for children and has a lovely children's pool. There is entertainment every night and it is only two minutes walk to the centre of the tourist area with shops and restaurants.
During the day buses run along the sea front road into the old town, the castle and the main shopping area. Within walking distance of this area is the main tourist beach - Dasoudi. Fifteen minutes in the car out to the east of Limassol will take you to Governors Beach - a lovely sandy bay with restaurants etc. There is also a bus which goes there every morning and returns in the afternoon.
The sand in Limassol is clean and so is the water, but the sand is dark which is why some people think it is dirty!
Limassol is so central to get to everywhere - you can be up in the mountains in 20 minutes, and there are plenty of tours if you don't want to hire a car.
Hope this helps a bit. Tour operators First Choice, Thomas Cook, Libra, Cyprair and Olympic all come here. We have also used Sunvil in the past.
Carol
finally got your PMs in my inbox today, don't know why they took so long.

Sally
