At the moment they can only go in the India section( which has not be renamed yet to add the Ocean bit)
However, it may be an idea to have a sticky here on Island reviews as it would be handier for everyone. Infact I am going to create a sticky now and you can be first to contribute!!
I'm sure others will also have their favourite islands they can review for us! :D

Hi i cant find the sticky so here is my review or maybe you would like to move it?

The biyadoo island resort

No matter what i say i cannot begin to even describe how amazing this resort is.

After being delayed 2 hours and a 13 hour very cramped flight with Monarch to Male we finally touched down in paradise.
Within 10 mins we were through immigration had our bags and were on the 45 minute speed boat ride to our home for the two weeks. The speed boat is a real thrill ride!

As we approached you could see the white sands and crystal clear waters lapping up the shore of Biyadoo island. Our bags were taken to reception for us to check in which took no time at all. We were greeted with a lovely cold face towell and a fresh coconut cocktail. We we were given our introduction to the island and this was the time were able to ask any questions regarding the island and our stay. We were informed at this time that Villivaru was closed and we could not go over for the duration of our stay. The staff then proceeded to take our bags to our room with a wheel barrow! Everything heavy on the island is transported by wheel barrow!

THE ROOM
We found our room to be very spacious and extremely clean.
Our bed was done nicely with flowers for our arrival.
It had all the neccessities such as Air con, Mini bar, shaving unit and hair dryer. There are no irons or ironing boards in you room.
But the hotel does offer a pressing service at $1 per item.
The Mini bar was stocked with four beers two cokes, two sprites
and two bottles of water all reasonably priced around $2.50 the same as you would pay at the bar. The room was basic but had everything typical of a *** resort.
We unpacked the majority of our stuff and showered and headed down for dinner.

THE RESTAURANT
The restaurant is very spacious and when you arrive you are assigned a table to sit at and one waiter will assist you throughout you stay. This will be your table for the duration of your stay. I have read some people saying they found their food repeatative and a bit tedious. I dont know how as there is so much variey. There were always different salads such as prawn salads and chicken salads. many different curries hiney glazed chicken and many many more. There was something different every single day and we were there for two weeks. The deserts are out of this world! They have so many kinds.
Our waiter was called Ansar, this man really tried hard to make our holiday enjoyable and we had such a laugh for the two weeks. It was very easy to build up a rapport with him. All of the waiters make an effort to talk to you.

DIVE OCEAN.
Dive Ocean have recently taken over the mariana dive school on the island. They are now offering a free introductory dive session within the first two days of your arrival on the island. We did this and i really enjoyed it. My wife didnt enjoy it much we both got cut to ribbons on the corak but it was worth it got some great underwater photographs of the fish and the coral.
Dive Ocean are offering a weeks diving course to become a fully certified diver for only $250. excellent value for money or if you want to do just one session for 3 hours is $75 a person. This is very good value for money i talked to people who did it and they all really enjoyed it.

SNORKELLING
We took our own snorkelling kit over with us. It was well worth it. We went snorkelling most days. We couldnt tear ourselves away there was sharks and turtles and moray eels they had everything.
The drop off is where the action is though. Threy have some really huge fish. Every day you always saw something different.
Biyadoo has one of the best reefs in the maldives and rightly so its truly magnificent.

EXCURSIONS.
There is quite a high number of excursions you can do with Biyadoo. A few of these include Dolphin watching, Picnic on a desert island. Male day trip, sunset cruise, night fishing and snorkelling safari's just to name a few. The prices vary really but are all very well priced compared to other excursions i have done round the world. such as $16 to do the dolphin watching that works out to about £10 and we saw about 60 of them. we enjoyed it so much we did it twice. The picnic on the desert island was fun until a boat load of over 50 italians arrived and the island was no longer deserted. We also visited fun island to see the amount of destruction left by the tsunami luckily on this island nobody was killed. None of the excursions go over the price of $43 so they are all very good value for money.

WATERSPORTS.
There is watersports on the island nothing is is motorised though. There is canoeing available, wind surfing, catarmarans and more and its all new equipment.

NIGHTLIFE
There is no night entertainment on the island. Only the bar.

THE STAFF.
The bar staff were great! I have never known bar staff like them and we are all now reaslly great friends. One in particular Pradip does magic and bar tricks so get him to show you a few if you decide to go they will have you stumped! We just had such a laugh we were literally falling about crying with laughter some days. The room boy cleaned our room top to bottom twice a day! Once in the morning and once in the evening. He always did nice patterns with our sheets near enough every night. Sometimes he would add flowers. They all made such effort. We always had towells without fail and there was never any issues with our room boy. Our waiter was nicked named smiler by the guests he always had a smile on his face. He couldnt do enough for you and we paid for the meal on the beach and he made it so amazing.

MEAL ON THE BEACH.
We paid $99 to have a meal on the beach.
This included a bottle of champagne and a five course meal consisting of king prawn salad, then soup, lobster, steak and then lemon tart. I have never know value for money like it! If you go here this is a must! it was so romantic with flowers and candles. The portions were huge.

THE BIYADOO BOUTIQUE.
This is a tiny shop right next to the restaurant and it sells just about everything made from coconut and leaves and wood.
There are some amazing carvings and we ended up spending over $300 in there alone. You are able to haggle with Hassan the guy who runs it and we spent that much he started giving us 50% discounts by the end of the holiday. seeing our room number all the time must have looked good for the books.

I am going to wrap it up now. If you have booked this hotel you are in for a treat and you really are going to enjoy yourselves.
If you havent booked it i strongly recommend it to you.
I didnt wanna leave and me and my wife were fighting back the tears when we left as we were left feeling so at home. We have already decided to book it again for next year.

Thought I would add my review here as this hotel is not listed on the main review board.

We had 2 weeks in the Maldives One week in the Taj Coral Reef and One week in Kerudu

Taj Coral Reef - Date of Visit Feb 2005

This resort is quite difficult to find the main stream brochures; I think Hayes and Jarvis are the only people to use this resort from the UK.

Flight

We flew with Sri Lankan airways from LHR to MLE with a brief change at Colombo. This airline is very good and I would recommend watching the take off and landing on the in-flight entertainment screen - amazing!!!

Transfers to Resort

Speedboat transfer of around 45 minutes and I must be honest it is great! The crew offer cold towels and water throughout the journey and provide a great commentary on the island that are past.

Arrival at Resort

As you approach the resort the first thing that hits you is how small the place is, there are only around 45 villas there separated into beach villas and Water Villas, we were greeted off the speedboat by the duty manager with a tray of cold fruit cocktails and escorted off the pier to the reception area.

Check -in was a dream compared to other holidays I have been on and we were given a welcome pack and our keys within 5 minutes.

Villa

As the island is so small, the villa was less that 50 yards from reception / bar / restaurant area and took literally 2 minutes to walk. An excellent villa with air conditioning, mini bar, TV and both indoor and outdoor showers!

Each villa has a small area of beach outside with a hammock and sun beds to use, watch out for the free range chickens though they are allowed to roam the island and can be a bit frightening if didn't know they were there.

Maid Service everyday of the week.

Food and Drink

We were on an all exclusive package which meant we did not need to pay for anything while we were there. The food was out of this world and on the first day we were allocated a waiter who looked after us the whole week. The great thing about the Taj is that as it is so small they do not make you wear those silly wrist bands for All Inclusive. All drinks are free and again the service is fantastic we didn't even have to leave our seats, our glasses were refilled when ever they were empty.

Water Sports

There are all the usual water sports available and apart from Diving, they are included in the price of the All Inclusive.

Entertainment

There is a beach disco and bonfire once a week and crab racing twice a week (Which I must say I did win) apart from that there is nothing else to do apart from relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

How would I rate the Holiday?
