Hello,
My boyfriend and I were going to go on a late deal to Malta in October to Qwara Palace hotel, but Ive seen to many mixed reviews about it and I have been reccommended to go to Benidorm instead. Its more family orientated as we'll have our 17 month old with us it's cleaner and an all round more interesting holiday, it will be our first time abraod together. Not to mention cheaper all round! Can anyone else give me more excuses to leave Malta this time and go to Benidorm! As many as possible please!!!!
Ive never been to malta so cant compare but just back from benidorm with our little one who is 18 months and he had a great time, he loved the pool during the day when he was awake and danced at night in the hotel and also at panchos, but the main thing i would argue would be the flight times, from glasgow to alicante it took 2 1/2 ish hours but i would imagine to malta would be a fair bit longer.
We personally would not stay in Benidorm - just not our thing. Having said that though - it does have a superb beach - which may be just ideal for your little one. The Spanish love children and of course they have in 'the tourist business' for many, many years. Malta hardly has any beaches and those they do have can get very crowded.
With regard to flight times - Malta is only about 3 - 3 1/4 hours so only half an hour or so longer than Alicante.

We love Benidorm and are going again in October and I'm sure you have read all the many positive reports about it on here.
I have never taken a young child on holiday but I would think Benidorm is much more suitable than Malta because as Pippa says it has a lovely beach and Malta has very few and certainly not in Buggiba.
3 star hotels in Benidorm are far superior to a Maltese 4 star, but having said that the Maltese are very friendly people.
Regards Sue
I can't comment on Malta, but I do go to Benidorm quite a lot and I think it would suit you down to the ground. It has a beautiful beach and it's easy to get around as it is very level for the buggy. The prom is lovely to walk along and great for people watching, and you can walk all the way along it to the old town, which is a must to see .There's also mundamar for the baby who will love seeing all the animals especially the dolphins.Nightime in Benidorm is great too, as there are bars like Pancho's who cater for the little ones, so you won't have to just stay in the hotel. Benidorm has everything anyone could want all in one place, if you want it quiet there in the poinente side, if you want livelier there's levante and if you want traditional spanish there is the old town.Whatever you decide I hope you have a good holiday .
October, lot of older generation around, very relaxed, not much strain on the numerous kiddie facilities. Could be a perfect time to go
It's ten years since we were last in Malta. All I can tell you is that it will be great when it's finished. But how long is a piece of string? I recommend Benidorm, there is something for everyone there. Just make sure you leave behind a bit of warm sun for us when we visit in November.

I was in Malta about five years ago. It was not "finished" then. (IMHO).
If I was given a choice of Malta or Benidorm, well I think you can guess which option I would choose.
Not that Benidorm is "finished" of course.....will Benidorm EVER be finished???
hi to all ...if i could afford it i would alternate between the two every other week ,.i love them both...............regards........john-doe
Go to Malta

From what you have posted in another thread, your somewhat negative comments would lead me to believe you have only been to Benidorm once from what it would appear, and you cannot have possibly have seen all that Benidorm has to offer in one visit, so how can you give such advice?
I've finally convinced him to go to Benidorm! I knew I'd get my own way eventually!
That is not, of course, why I posted this!! I knew that Malta wouldn't suit us!
