Hi Davedee,

I am sure that you will find that Turkey has changed alot in 20 years. I have been living in Antalya for almost 10 years and have watched it expand and grow. I think you will find it quite different than before. The resorts on the Med. coast and the Agean coastline have shot up like hot cakes with big 5 star all inclusive hotels and holiday resorts.

But if you are still looking for a traditional turkish resort my personal favorite is the small village of Cirali located 80kms southwest from Antalya.

Cirali is protected by the WWF, for the conservation of the sea turtles and it's natural surroundings.

It is a wonderful place for families and the mature traveller with it's clean 4km secluded beach, the ancient ruins of Olympos and the flames of CHIMAERA. Cirali caters to a quieter crowd with only a few local bars and restaurants playing live turkish music.

İt is one of the last remaining villages that has not been taken over by mass tourism.

Hi
I would like to thank you all for your advice. We now have a good idea where we want to go and can start planning our trip. What I can make out from all the information is that Turkey has changed a lot in the last 20 years and looking forward to finding out more for ourselves. When we were last there, tourism away from the coast was in its infancy and we found that to be very educational and exciting, so although we are going to stick to the coast this time we are going to try and stay away from the large built up areas. Once again thanks.
Dave
