Don't be alarmed by the thread title, El Nino hasn't struck Benidorm
As much of my threads are, a bit of the renaissance, I was trawling through the old video camera footage from my trip to Beni in December 00
I have some amazing shots of the Avda Mediteranneo in glorious virgin white, got a good few inches that night, we sheltered in the Unicorn (near the Presidente)

I believe you, because whilst I was not in Benidorm during the exact time you state to witness your post, I have been to Beni and it has snowed...infact it has been too cold to snow.
A couple of years ago (can`t remember the exact date) it was white all around La Nucia, and only the "warmth" being thrown off from the buildings in Beni, stopped the snow from settling.
We went on the levante beach at midnight (spanish time) to watch the massive firework display that Beni put on, to welcome in the new millenium.
It was so cold that we just couldn`t stand it, despite being wrapped up in winter coats, gloves, scarves and a hat.
It might have said -2 on the thermometer, but the chill/wind factor coming from the sea made it feel like -22 degrees
