According to the papers here in Turkey there has been another avoidable accident with a fire show tht went wrong in Altinkum.
A poolseide fire show went horribly wrong when a performer spat fluid from his mouth and he lit it and it went into the audience.
There were 9 reported injuries and a little girl from the UK died from her injuries.
Please take care of yourselves if you are wtching something like this and do not get too close but even better still judt do not entertain places that put on these type of acts.

hi ..john ..thats a very sad post..and you are quite right in your comments to be carefull .......i feel for the little girls family.......regards....john-doe
Oh Dear, what an awful thing to happen. Thanks for reminding people how dangerous somethings can be. I do feel that sometimes on holiday we do things we would never consider doing at home. What a tragic accident.
What a dreadful thing to happen - especially on holiday. That poor family.
and lighting the vapour, also the lighting of fireworks in crowded rooms.
Just because you are on holiday does not make you immune from the danger that these sort of exihibitions can produce.
Fire is dangerouse wherever you are if you are in a bar were any of these things are happening be aware, watch the children in fact go outside you will be at less risk.
Having said that this accident happened outside round the pool area.
So the best thing is to avoid a situation were you are putting yourselfe and family in danger.

sorry for the little girl"s family. There are 2 more kids are in coma who injured with fire.
And after last years reports on this website of a girl's hair catching fire at one of these shows involving aerosols etc (was it in a bar in Icmeler?) I'm appalled that the Turkish authorities are still allowing this to go on.
I've never seen one of these shows redrhino, and I've been going to Turkey on holiday every year for over 10 years. Until last year, I didn't even know they existed!
There is no way I'd be going anywhere near a bar or restaurant where these fire shows go on. Especially after the news of this latest incident.

Whilst staying in Gumbet last week we saw a 'fire show' outside a restaurant. The performer was a young Welsh guy who told us he travels around the area giving free performances at restaurants/bars and lives off the tips he collects. No aerosols were involved but the guy was swigging lighter fuel and then igniting it. The performer was on the pavement outside the restaurant but I have to admit I didn't give the safety much thought. So sorry to hear about this terrible tragedy.
I`m sure all our thoughts are with all those invilved in this terrible accident
So sorry to hear about the little girl and my thoughts are with her family. It is true that because you are on holiday you tend not to give a thought to safety. One bar that we went into had flares and the barmen drove about the bar on motorcycles with the flares lit. Everybody seemed to enjoy it myself included but now you can easily see how accidents can happen there were young children in that bar even though it was late at night.
I ve often wondered about these acts, last year in marmaris a sparkler jumped out of one of the break dancers socks but luckily missed the crown, the family must be inconsolable
Very sorry for the families involved
Anyone using Bar-B-Que lighting fluid runs a similar risk in their own back garden.
A tragedy nonetheless for the unfortunate people involved!
The Sun has run an article on this -
There is a 2 page article in Sun today, my heartfelt sympathy goes to all involved and families both abroad and in England, you do not realise how lucky you are till you read or hear about something like this. We have just come back from Marmaris and remeber seeing 2 fire shows, one at hotel Lunamar (Snakeman show), the other was at Hotel Aloe where a waiter was going round with a gas burner flaring it into the air which at the time I thought was dangerous. Iwill never watch these kind of shows again and hope others do the same.
What a terrible terrible loss. My thoughts and Prayers are with them all. God Bless. Anna and family xxxx
i have never seen any fire shows on all my visits to turkey but if i do i will definately avoid them
Tragic beyond words. My condolences go out to the little girl's family and friends.
What an awful awful tragedy, my thoughts and prayers go out to the little girls family, and I wish a speedy recovery for the other people involved. xxx
