Withey, as Wazza says, the dress code, and this applies to most places in Egypt, is very relaxed. Smart casual is the order of the day, i.e short shorts at lunchtime, long shorts in the evening and it's just not polite to wear swimwear for meals. You wont have any problem at all, just be yourself!

As previously stated smart casual is ok, but no swimwear etc for meals..unless you're going to the old cataract in aswan, where their dress code states for men jacket, collar and tie for meals and for womena cocktail dress......................stayat the best hotel in town crocodile island in luxor, just returned and you will have no problem (if I could figure out

Some hotels, including the Grand in Hurghada, request men to wear long trousers in the evening, so its worth taking a pair just in case!
