Hi new here just wondered if any one has stayed at this hotel, what is it like, what are the bars, eating out nearby and any other relevant info.
Is there enoug to keep a 12yr old and 42 yr old child amused?
Would appreciate ant info as me, partner and 12yr old fly out on 15th Aug for a fortnight
Many thanks
Steve
are the beaches as poor as people say ?
I am hoping to return back to Santorini next year as I had a fantastic holiday last year.
I personally wouldn't say the beaches are poor, Kamari beach is black sand/shingle and not overcrowded. I found the beaches to be kept very tidy. Red beach is very beautiful.

Anyone out there been to the hotel mentioned?
Any good traditional restaurants/bars (cheap )
Thanks in anticipation
Steve
Gods Garden is a good restaurant (don't be put off by the look of it on first seeing) as some of the restaurants on the beach front look much nicer, but the food in Gods Garden is brilliant especially their lamb dish for 2 which is cooked in the oven all day. We went there 3 times and on our last night of our holiday had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table - thats how good the food is. Dorians sell cocktails at 3 euros and Mythos (local lager) for about the same - go there a few times on the trot and he remembers your order.
We stayed at Gardenia Hotel which was very clean with a lovely swimming pool but we had a walk around nosing at the other Hotels etc and must admit Black Sandy Beach Hotel was one I rather took a shine to. Looks very inviting with a nice pool and at night (when I saw it) looked very welcoming.
Hope this helps and have a great holiday - I really envy you it was one holiday I certainly didn't want to return from.

Is Perissa beach like black ash ?
In 4 weeks time,I'm staying at the Black Sands apartments and Hotel in Kamari, is it the same place ? if so they have good reviews
The beach in Perissa at first sight doesn't look as good as a golden sandy beach but it is very similar to walking on sand (gets very hot you will need flip flops or beach shoes on). They are very very fine stones/pebbles. You can run them through your fingers just like sand. The beach itself is very clean and once you get used to the colour it isn't any different from being on a sandy beach.
Hi Deb sorry I have not acknowledged your comments sooner, been away from the PC for a few days.
Lovely hotel, owners great too! Seems more 4 star than 2 star. Also very close to all the action in Perissa. I love Santorini! Have a great time
