Hi can anyone answer my question. I have been looking at booking a holiday in Kefalonia but everything I look at has very steep hills! Living in the flat fens I find steep hills hard work especially with a moaning teenager in tow. Is there any resorts with acomodation very close to the beach and close to the resort centre so it saves my legs and sanity!!!
Thanks in advance x[/b]
There are a number of hotels/apartments along the coast road in Skala which would be ideal as you are within a short distance of the centre of Skala and on the beach. Paspalis, Tara Beach, Anassa are just a few.
There are some very good ones out of Skala but these are almost always up a very steep hill. Great views though!!
Lassi is probably a no go as most of the accommodation is up a hill.
Skala would in my opinion be the best - just make sure that whatever you book is on the sea front.

We went to Skala and found the resort and beach area flat. I think it maybe quiet for a teenager though. Not sure if Lassi is flat but def more going on there for a teenager.
We were in skala last month and have to agree with the others. If you can manage a few steps into the main village then this place is lovely and flat. There are photos on Clearspray
Hi. We went to Skala in May this year and stayed at the Skala Village. Nice pool area but the food wasnt brilliant. Also it was too far to walk into town - a taxi was 4 euros which works out a bit expensive over a couple of weeks. We found Skala to be very British. We used to go into Poros rather than Skala where there are some nice bars near the harbour. This was our third time to Kefalonia. If we ever return it would probably be to Lassi because of its close proximity to Argostoli where there is a lovely square with nice bars/restaurants (great fruit and veg market in the day as well ). Hire a car for a few days because Kefalonia is a beautiful island with stunning scenery.
Lassi - hilly:
Lixouri - flat: beach - long flat walk to a not good beach.
Nea Skala - Resort itself is flat on a cliff above beach, a few accomodations are down near the variable beach.
Poros - Resort flat: poor pebble beach, no packages anymore, but plenty of accomodation.
Sami - Resort flat: poor beach.
Fiskardo - village reasonably flat: beaches each side polluted with tar, picturesque at a distance.
Katelios - Flat: rubbishy seaweedy beach.
The busiest places are Argostoli, Nea Skala, Lassi.
Been going to Kefalonia for many year always stay in Lixouri but have travelled the Island in depth with a Greek friend, certain parts are mountainous but if you hire a car thats no problem and the local bus service takes you everywhere cheaply but it is a wonderful Island to see the scenery is out of this world and the friendliness of the locals they make you feel so welcome it's amazing hopefully we are shortly returning to this tthis Island for our 22nd time as we love it so much
