We flew at 6am from Gatwick a couple of weeks ago and didn't go to bed as we had too much late packing to do. On reflection it was a bad move as we were overtired and it took a good couple of days to recover!

Even a couple of hours would have made a big difference.

Have a read of your confimation invoice or tickets as they should state how many hours before your flight you should be at the airport. Usually it's 2 hours before although some T/O's require you to be there 3 hours before.

So either 3.30 or 4.30am.

Hi Taz, if you haven't already gone yet - usually if we don't have our seats booked we go 3 hours before.

The last couple of years we have flown to Menorca (from Newcastle) at that time, once Thomson the other My Travel, everything is open in the departure lounge apart from Burger King and Boots but Boots does open before you need to board.

Personally I like going early as I get that excited at home I can't eat breakfast so we usually have something in the airport. Also gives plenty of time to wander the shops.

You'll be amazed how many people are travelling at that time in the morning.

THE NORMAL WEDNESDAY MORNING 6.30AM FLIGHT FROM NEWCASTLE HAS NOW CHANGED TO 5.40AM, WELL IT HAS ON MY FLIGHT ON 30TH AUGUST, SO HAVE TO BE AT AIRPORT 3.30AM ISH !!! WON'T BOTHER GOING TO BED THEN!!
