Hand luggage restrictions and security operations apply to ALL airports.
All these security measures In place at the moment are needed........... Im sure all the delayed passengers know why theyre delayed, so will understand. Well I would, anyway! I would be just grateful for all the security checks going on, to keep us safe........
It must be very scary at the moment though..........
I actually have a friend whos flying this morning abroad......... I bet shes affected by the delays.......... lets hope Its resolved as quickly as possible.
Details can be found here:
oh yes i agree, id rather be delayed than be put at risk. it terrifies me though, why do we have to live like this, innocent people going about there day spoilt by a oppinionated few. hope your friend isnt too disrupted, id be so nervous flying right now. im so glad there on top of it, and have put the nesessary measures in place. im going with my 3 little ones, steves told me not to worry but its hard not to.
ive just read the link debbq put in and it says about liquid medicines..i now need to get a letter from my doctor to say that the insulin i carry with me me is infact insulin..i remember having to do this when 9/11 happened and at the airport they still wouldnt take the letter as proof.they wanted to take my insulin off me and asked me to get some abroad from a doctor there.also the insulin pen that i use was going to be kept by the stewardess till i needed it...what annoys me most is the guy behind me had a huge camera bag and it was never checked..there were 3 other diabetics on my flight and were annoyed as me.Its getting me worried about my flight shortly so lets hope things are better by then.
We're also going in 3 weeks time, we're going to be taking our 21 month old little boy, will we be allowed to take toys for him to play with in our hand luggage? Does anybody know this.
just heard on the news that if you take any drinks or food on board these will be taken away from you..what happens to those who chose to opt out of the inflight meal??
It may only last until early hours of tomorrow they are saying now........ they need to be sure that the "threat" has subsided.........
......... They obviously think that Its a step they have to take ...
Maybe they know something we dont know......
im taking my 18 month old little boy, and my 2 daughters aged 5 and 9. im not taking toys on flight anyway because im hoping they'll sleep on board flying at 10 45.whatever the restrictions we'll get through it, its only 5 hours of our holiday and i dont like flying anyway. im sure it'll be fine when we go, an if not at least i know someones watching our backs.
Going back to your first comment, my husband who works in the far north sea offshore is travelling from Scatsta ( basically a runway and a shed in Shetland !!) to Aberdeen tomorrow and will have to go through the clear plastic bag scenario too. Thats how severe is the current situation, im afraid.
