Hi all
Thinking of going to Alcudia next year but still not got accomodation sorted yet.Could anyone tell me if there is much difference in bar and restaurant prices between the different parts of the resort, I have read that Playa Del Muro area is more expensive, is this true?Quite fancy staying here at Eden Alcudia Apts, but if it is going to make holiday costlier then maybe will have to have a rethink!
Cheers Helen
Are you planning on going for 2 weeks. We didnt get to eat in the Playa De Muor area near the Eden Centre however it is a bit far out and there is not a lot to do so you may end up getting taxis a bit and that would add to the cost. I would imagine a taxi from the Eden Centre would cost between 12/15 euro each way to the Port.
We are going for two weeks at the end of next August. The Eden Alcudia Apts look really nice but dont want to have to walk too far to bars etc.Have stayed in Del Muro 7 years ago (Continental Park0 but never went to the busier end so I just want to know how they compare .
Cheers Helen
Is there a bit of confusion here? Eden Alcudia is not at the Eden Center, the latter is down at Alcudia Pins just before Can Picafort, the former just on the border of Playa de Muro and Puerto Alcudia. Helen, don't see why it should be more expensive per se. The bars/restaurants are much as they were when you were at the Continental 7 years back (Eden Alcudia is quite close to the Continental), save for a few newcomers. Prices are generally similar to the port area in Alcudia, for instance. But if you want to get into the port, the taxis will cost, not as much as from the Eden Center, but it will still be a factor - roughly a half of what Waterford quotes would be sort of right.
We stayed in the Playa Muro end of Alcudia, near the Burger King not the one near the Bellevue and found prices just the same as at the Port or the Bellevue area.
We stayed at the RIOMAR in Play de Muro a couple of weeks ago and ate out every night for 10 nights. Food is very reasonable, we ate in Alcudia just once and this was the most expensive (and worst) meal we had on the entire holiday. I can highly recommend 3 restaurants that are located next door to each other down a small side road (pedestrianised) located just off the main road, by the Perfume shop. They are Pepe's - British. Martins - also British and Napoles - Italian. All are very reasonable and the food is excellent! Plenty of others too - one on the main road next to the perfume shop is quite good, also across the road - an italian on the corner - get's very busy though. Avoid the George and Dragon (nr the RIOMAR).
We were in Playa Del Muro 7 years ago and we went to Martins almost every night, I was wondering if it was still there.the owner,s name was Julie, is she still there?
Cheers Helen
Helen, Pretty sure she was called Julie yes. Sounded like she had a northern (Manchester?) accent. She has a son, probably about 14-15 yrs old helping out too. Excellent bar/restaurant as you say, very reasonably priced, can highly recommend it to anyone!
Yes, she was from Atherton, near Manchester and just a few miles from us(Wigan). Her husband and son were both called Gustavo .The little boy used to speak English to his mum and Spanish to his dad, he was a little terror then , but very comical. Hope they are still there next year when we go ,as you said it was a very good restaurant.
Cheers Helen
