Hi helmilner,
Just wondering if anyone has been to this hotel? Weve booked to go on our honeymoon next august and just wanted some feedback as to what its like??????
Hello Stewart, be very pleased if you could perhaps add a review on this hotel?? Be good to know as much as we can. The review in the first choice brochure doesnt make it sound too great with its customer ratings
Also, any other people who have visited this hotel recently, would be greatly appreciated if you could let me know what you thought.
Many thanks
After a few years memebrship on here I have at last done my first review ( sorry moderators know I should have done more ). I hope this helps. Please also feel free to ask me specific questions either through this topic or PM me I will be happy to answer any concerns you have. This is your Honeymoon and I know you will want it perfect.
Kind Regards
Stewart
Bit concerned about the levelling of the lagoon, will have to check with agents on that one!! Think one of our main concern was the food and by the sound of it, its as we expected. We dont expect the same standard as the UK, like most, especially after going to Egypt last year.
Was there any restrictions, time wise on drinks or food, it says 24 hour and what time did the disco close, music like ?
Many thanks
Helen
The al carte restaurants are at set times ( cant remember exactly what times but I guess around 2000 ). The buffet if I remember starts early at about 1830 to abouut 2130 maybe later. The 24 Hour is another restaurant near the beach which serves snack type foods ( never used this as there was more than enough food during the day ). The lunchtime food is also very very good.
I honestly thought the food was very good but as I say others disagreed.
Not sure what time the disco closed was certainly still going 0200-0300. Music is variable mainly the well know middle of the road dance pop music. Usually a little Cuban Salasa thrown in during the night. It is catering for the late 20's early 30's market I would guess. One thing I forgot to mention in my review is that a large percentage of the clients are Canadian and they seemed to look on Cuba as their Tenerife ( Short flight to the Sun and they party on ) so they are out for a good time and making use of the AI.
Kind Regards
Stewart
Have you checked out the reviews on this website:
http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g147275-d249508-r5236841-Tryp_Peninsula_Varadero-Varadero_Beach_Cuba.html
Loads of reviews there and a photo of the work going on at the lagoon ( they havent done much in the last year and a half and it wasnt intrusive.
Also the set times for al a carte on there on some reviews.
As you will see differing views on the food but most are positive.
Any more questions then just ask.
Kind Regards
Stewart
I'm due to go to this hotel 2 weeks on Saturday and have heard there is some building work going on and that it is best to request a room away from this area. Can anyone recommend a good block to request?
Thanks
