I'm normally on the Goa forum as love Goa and have been going for the past seven years, thought I'd try somewhere else! (still going to Goa next year as well, cant stay away!)

Hi Nanette, I am the same usually on the Goa board, next year will be our third visit. We are going to Lopud island on the 17th Septemer this year just for a week staying at Hotel Lafodia. I will let you know what it is like when I get back.

I've read your posting about Lafodia, I'm sorry it wasnt what you were hoping for. What did you think of the rest of Lopud? Having never been to Croatia before, I'm wondering if I've done the right thing!

I've been to Croatia but stayed in Cavtat which was very picturesque. I thought Croatia was a beautiful country.

Hi Nanette, Glynis is right Croatia is a beautiful country and the island of Lopud is lovely. Please dont let me put you off I think we were just unfortunate that we only had a small pool and the noise of the island hoppers tooing and froing from 11 to 5 just below us wasnt quite what we expected. If is wasnt for that we probably would of enjoyed our holiday, but the noise really was beyond a joke. The last boat from Dubrovnik to lopud is 8 in the evening but other islands could be different. There was only about 4 cafe's and two restuarants along the front but again each island will be different. I am sure you will be ok

As for Goa we are going again in March for the third time and really love it we go to the South and stay at the Heritage, I know its AI and everyone thinks you shouldnt do that in Goa but we eat out as well and get the best of both worlds. Also it is much quieter in the South and on our beach there was only two shacks and one of those only appeared last year.
