lola. anything under 3 month would not be a problem as youre visa allows this ..anything over and you would have to travel outside and back again .not sure if that applies if you get a work permit though.try thompsons auction for cheap flights.to get you out there and book a flight back when youre ready to leave from a local office.rent is not that expensive compared to package deals ..we have looked into renting for a full year and the prices are unbelievable compared to booking a family holiday.

They are very strict in Turkish holiday resorts about working permits. Besides which there are no shortage of turkish nationals who want and need the work - many travel from Istanbul and other cities for the summer season.

I would advise you go for as long as you can afford to go for a holiday.

My reps even had problems at our hotel last year (exclusive to this small holiday company so they didn't work anywhere else in the resort) - as a british company owned the small hotel and then employed their own reps for that hotel, it had to be sorted out with the local police and for weeks they were not allowed to wear their uniforms, until it was sorted.

Looks like I'll just have to go out for as long as possible.

if you eat in the old town were the turks eat then the restaurants are a lot cheaper than the main busy stretch of bars etc, accommodation to rent depends on the month you go as july and aug will be dearer than say may june, ive been to marmaris loads of times from winter to summer and they do put the prices up, my mother lives there and they do have an apt to rent out and do it cheaper over a mth if you want me to ask i can do just let me know

OK thanks everyone

Maybe it would just be easier to work my way around europe for that amount of time, places where I can get a permit (actually is there anywhere that I could get a work permit?)
I'm not planning on going for another year, but to get everything sorted would be easier.
A job doing transfers? Sorry having a stupid moment, but what wouold I need to do for that?
Does anyone think it is really worth doing or would somewhere else be better etc

Thanks

I can`t remember exactly where or what it`s called, but there`s a little cafe at the back of Marmaris, outside the town centre, where the locals eat, they do mainly chicken. It`s a scruffy little place, but the food`s great and dirt cheap.
