my husband and i have just booked a late deal to the hotel america leaving on the 24th june. the hotel reports all seem really positive i do get bored easy though and as the resort is so small i was wondering if we can get buses or taxis to take us to busier resorts if we want a day out. if we need a taxi where can we get to and how much will it cost. what trips are on offer for instance i would like to go to a busy market and maybe a boat trip. I cant drive and my husband hates driving so hiring a car is out of the question. I loook forward to some replies so i can plan my holiday. mandy

If you go to the Caves of drach the earlier the better. If you hire a car try and get there when they open. You will have an almost exclusive tour and an underground concert to yourself. We actually walked in with the musicians and shared the experience with about 6 others. far better than the first time we went on a coach and there were sevral hundred of us down there at the same time.
Hi went to the America in May liked it so much going back in September.If you wish to get out and about the buses are great cheap and on time.Depending on were you want to go you may need to go to Palma to get bus for futher afield,or Porto Cristo for this side of the island.Enjoy your stay

there are a few cash points one by macdonald just a minuite from the america and spotted 2 up by the shops ans bars

Big red where are you staying in calas de mallorca?
I am home now, was at the Sol Balmoral for 1 week. It was great but tranfers with Resorthoppa left a lot to be desired

staying at hotel america for 1 week from 10th october was wondering if everything is still open, and do buses run quite regular to palma?
The resort will probably be winding down for the season by then and some shops may even be shut. I do not think the bus service to Palma is that regular as it is quite far away, but you could visit some near by resorts.
The caves oc Drac are near by and well worth a vist if you have not been before. If you do go, do your own thing. Get a taxi or bus and pay in at the venue.
