Hello. I'm newish to holiday truths - I lurked in the Rhodes forum in July, just before my trip there, and found some of the topics very useful. I've now booked a DIY to turkey for 2weeks leaving on sept 16 (16 days to go!) so i've decided to ask you knowledgable lot to share some of your thoughts on Turkey to a 'Turkey first timer'. Myself and a mate are flying into Istanbul for 4 nights, then flying to Cappadocia for 3 nights then will take an overnight coach to Bodrum for 8 nights. Then a flight back to london via Istanbul. I've got 4 specific questions, but any coments are welcome.
1. In Istanbul would it be cheaper to get a taxi from the airport to the old part of town (hotel near blue mosque) or to arrange a transfer via our hotel?
2. In Cappadocia we are planning to do the hot air balloon trip - has anyone else tried this, will it be worth the 130 Euro I've been quoted (per person).
3. What's the Azka hotel like in Bodrum? Can you really have a 5 star hotel that only costs £24 for the room per night in Turkey?
4. Before I forget what are Turkish Airlines like, I've never flown with them?
Thanks for any replies

Sorry can't really help with the post but hope you have a fantastic time
you lucky person, are you planning on visiting the underground citys???. my turkish neabour who lives in the appartment next to mine lent me a book all about cappadocia sounds like a fantastic place with loads of history. hope you enjoy your trip.
may be you can post some of the details when you return
Cappadocia I'm not sure what to expect apparently its a one of a kind - and a couple of peeple that I know who have been there already say its you can't not be amazed by it. . Mike - thanks I've just added the underground city to my list of must do's in Cappadocia. I will definitely post a holiday review when I get back - 13 days to go woohoo!
Anyone got any info on Bodrum - I'm still not sure I made the right choice, it took me ages to choose between Bodrum and Marmaris.
What sort of questions do you have about Bodrum? If you want a quiet place to stay, go out to Bitez, nice beach, hotels on the beach front, there are quite a few fans of the Manuela Hotel on this forum.
Just post specific questions about Bodrum here and you'll get all the help you need.
