One of the oldest spots to try is the upstairs balcony of the Mandovi Hotel it's a nice spot to have a beer, very nostalgic, and feels like a throwback to another age Its very close to both the cruise jetty and the Delhi Durbar Alan

Delhi Durbar - I heard that it burned down last year.

Can anyone verify or correct?

hi pete - yes, i think there was a fire. it's now open, was there in january this year. great service and food. had a terrific night, it was my girlfriend's 30th...starters, mains, desserts, champagne (sula..the only one to have in goa) all for under £40.

you'll love it :)

my girlfriend has just reminded me, she was also given a watch and a bottle of port by the restaurant !!! (i think the sula had gone to my head by that stage :) )

Hi Les - quite a few bars to drop into but explaining where they are is almost impossible ! If you look down all the 'precincts' off all the roads that run through the centre you will find hidden ones. Two that we always call into are The Cricketers and the one that I do know where to find is called Top Gear - this is on the side of the road that runs along where the cruise boats go from. Have a look in the picture gallerie (under miscellaneous page 5).
As for the cruise boat trip - it's worth it. Go for the 6.00pm cruise and get the sunset shots.

i have to back you up on the cruise trips on the Mandovi River, did that in march then off to Delhi Durbar to finish off a great night. One thing about the cruise is that the Indians head to the dance floor when the music starts, entertaining to say the least, drink on board is cheap, Go their and enjoy yourselves im sure you will
