Was in Paphos last year so things may have changed a bit since then.I have to agree with Manhattan, ate there most times in the fortnight,a bit pricier than some but worth it i think. Also ate a few times in Rimini on the triangle across fron the Avanti although it does get very busy and a bit chaotic but "don't panic,Panicos is here".
The Seagull at the start of the harbour was also very good as was Romantica across from Alexander the Great(well around that area).
The worst we had in probably 7 years of going to Cyprus was the Italian at the very beginning of Bar Street,Porto Paphos I think it was called.
We have recently returned from our 5th visit to Paphos. Capricciosas is a lovely Italian, Theos on the harbour for fresh fish, Imperial for Chinese, Dianas for a lovely steak, all are popular restaurants so advise on being there by 8pm.
Hi everyone
We get married in paphos May 07, we are staying at the Athena Beach and wondered if anyone could reccomend a Cypriot tavena or restuarant that do a meze. There are about 20 of us and most of our party are staying pretty close to us at the Athena.

I would recommend pegasus on the point of the triangle, but the rest in the triangle werent that good. A little further up the road is the Irish bar & restaurant which I can highly recommend, run by Jo and her cypriot husband.
Definately avoid the ribshack, thats really overpriced and greasy!!!! The Indian next door though looks and smells devine!!!!!!!!

Hi, we've been to the Plaka Restaurant a few times. They do a meze - its always seemed a really friendly place to us and the food has always been good ---------- we've never been disappointed! Its about a 5 min walk from the Athena - why not go once to check it out and then give it a go --------------
It may not be the best place in Pafos as recommended by the locals but for us it was lovely -

Hi Dawn - the nearest taverna to Athena Beach for a meze is Plaka. If you love kleftiko you could try the Sunbow (don't be put off by the name) on the triangle - its the best I've ever tasted. I don't think you'd get a meze at the Pegasus or Irish Bar though, only bar snacks.
Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding next year, I'm sure you'll be well looked after at the Athena. Pity we'll miss you as we're back there again in June.

Hello,
I am hoping for some opinions on the above restaurant.
I am getting married in Paphos next year - Oct 07. Our wedding organiser has organised our wedding reception for this taverna - we would very much like traditional meze and traditional dancing. Howver I have found one bad review on the internet and am now worried!
Can you help? What is Demokritos like? In terms of food and staff etc. (I think it is on Dionysos Street) Has it got a good atmosphere i.e. does dancing continue there after teh traditional dancers?
Also we envisage that some of group will want to carry on drinking and dancing after we have eaten etc. Can you recommend a nice friendly bar with good music for dancing i.e. a bit of cheese!
Thanks for your help xx
