Which places are used by the locals for eating out, drinking ?? Coffee shops, shopping and were none Greek speaking tourists would be welcome ??
Thanks
best if you jump on a bus or gab a cab into Permera several excellent tavernas, and a regional shopping centre, and at the moment not over run with Brits..as it is a working town.. just one point in some of the smaller bars you will not find women only locals drinking Greek coffee [kaffe elinika]and playing cards..
Tourists are welcome at even the very "Greel Orientated" places. Two of my absolute favourites are the Fernagin and Misohoro - both in Deryniea, but worth the effort.
...or even the Green Garden or Number 2 George Restaurant in Vrysoulles.
Links, ahem, "borrowed" from Marions website, which is Kapparis.info.

Cardiff Lad did a great job for me last time, and will help out again on his next trip.
Marion
ps Try Costas Ropas in Paralimni... excellent Friday evening meze with live music. We were the only non-Cypriots there.
To be fair Marion Ady would know Derynheia better than me. I'm not to good up that way.
We are out at the same time as Cardiff this time. We will go a-hunting cards
Oh - and the Deryneia Tavern is now called "The Square".
Keep up the good work.
Will pm you my email address and will send you some piccies when we get back.

I covered Pernerea, Ayia Triada and Kapparis last holiday and I think Marion got information from nearly 40 bars from me. This time I will be doing the Prot strip.
Have scooter will travel lol.
Excellent, Ady, thank you.
And I'm looking forward to more gruntwork with Protaras, CL!
Eating out page now updated. The Vrysoulles section could do with some links.
Not easy to keep it updated from Birmingham. And when we're there, we don't like drink-driving.
Bye for now, Marion
ps We're off to Tenerife next Sunday... our place is booked!

Marion: There are some more in Vrysoulles I can try this time too
Understand and agree with the drink driving bit too. One night in April we follwed the most drunk driver I have ever encountered (anywhere) on the way back between Vrysoulles and Frenaros. He was so slow and all over the road so much that I daren't try and go past him. I was honestly expecting him to go into a hedge. He stopped for no obvios reason and I took my chance.
Have fun in Tenerife
Ady
I've got to be honest I dont know the Vrysoulles area at all so i'd have no chance there.
as for my Greek.. its still poor.. I've managed to remember a few words... learning languages just isn't one of my things
