Sounds like a fabulous holiday. Newby to Turkey, went July to Marmaris but too hot to do anything so going back to explore it more on Sept 27th. The old village sounds really lovely, I wouldnt mind more details either to hopefully go there next year.

Glad you had a good holiday Gail. We loved the Tuncay as well when we stayed there in May and when we come back will stay there again. Off to Olu Deniz in 7weeks for the first time.

Have a fab time in Olu.... Will be interesting to read your comparison between the 2 resorts.....

just got back sat 15/09/06 stayed at heat and breeze icmeler.
rooms basic but clean staff very good would defnitly reccommend.

good places to eat - taj mahal excellent

mandalin,vinces bar,peking,simpsons bar (huge fish and chips)

aviod chefs service awful food poor.

Glad you had a good time Jess. I totally agree with you about the old village, we tended to stay in the old village and eat there too. Totally agree about the Cubana restaurant service and quality of food excellent.
So sad to be home.

Ohhh Laurence... can only sympathise with you:( Sad to be back I know... I've got over that stage now.. only coz I'm off to Cyprus in 4 weeks for a quick break. If I wasn't goin there I'm sure I'd still be in a state of depression
Yes we loved the Cubana bar... hosts really nice... food lots better than we thought it was goin to be. They were brilliant with the kids thru the day (age range 14 - 16). They had a pool table, laptop on the bar so they could use it for msn and knocked up really nice baguettes for lunch.. prices really good They kept sayin to the kids... tell your parents to come one evening for a meal... so after a few nights (on 2nd week) we thought... well why not... so we did... and the meal was fab! Wish we had gone there abit earlier now... would have visited it more than once if we'd had known... but isn't that always the case.. Did you try Ozzy's in the old village?? They do wikid sizzlers... omg they are just gorgeous... and again... the staff.... excellent... always made to feel really welcome.
There are still places in the old village that we didn't get to try and we intend to try some of them next year... Also there's umpteen places yet in the centre that we still haven't tried...
While we were there the kids met up with Kevs grandchildren... (Kev lives over there..... a Geordie.. but a good friend of Mustafa's who owns Tuncay apts)... well anyway they met up with them a couple of days before we come home... 2 girls... My daughter and my friends (15 & 17) have been keepin in touch with these other girls from Newcastle who will also be there same time as us next year.... (we go back 10th Aug) so they will all have a fab time as by then I'm sure they will all know each other and I'm sure that the Cubana bar will be made up with their custom... plus I'm sure we'll be in there alot more next time
We was going to try somewhere different next year... but there are so many eating places we haven't tried yet... so looks like we've still got alot more visiting to do...
Get your weeks booked for next year... I'm sure that will take away your holiday blues....
PS... if you can't wait till then.. hang on a couple of weeks and try either get a last minute bookin for Oct or get a cheap flight and phone John Toohey from icmeleronline and get him to get you an apt up in old village... Me has this feeling that come a couple of weeks time.. they will be giving away hols & flights over to Dalaman.... coz at the moment not many people are going because of the bomb threats etc...
A friend of mine came back from Marmaris last week and has a pic of the beach there through the day almost deserted!!! Very sad.. Let's just hope it picks up a little bit and people make the most of the bargain trips there... and hopefully will get back to some sort of normality next year.
If I wasn't off to Cyprus.. I would deffo be on the case to be goin back over there for a quick week in Oct I'd better close this now... beginning to turn into an essay... I'll be gettin told off!!!

We're off to Calis Beach next year just to try somewhere new. Turkey is so vast and with so many different places to try, although we loved Icmeler, we can't wait to try somewhere new.

The friends who have been to Icmeler with us over the last couple of years went to Calis Beach 3yrs ago same time we had our first visit to Icmeler.... Will be interesting to hear your verdict on the place
