Returned last Monday from Sunny Beach after 2 weeks.
SB for not really for us, resort seemed quiet however we seemed to have went towards the end of the season so that will explain that. Cost of living is very cheap and the beer is good however be careful when eating out as too often we found meats raw and side dishes served cold.
Gypsies dragging a bear round the streets really got to me as did the guy holding the taped-up baby crocodile on the streets, Pubs are okay however as i said earlier too quiet at times.
Beach is gorgeous and you HAVE to go to Khan's Tent - A brilliant night of entertainment and would be cheap at twice the price (around £22 per adult).
Locals in general can't do enough for you and are friendly. Never had any major problems in the 2 weeks we were there - Getting charged £50 for our bags being over the allowance on the return flight left a bad taste in my mouth as they were over when we left Glasgow and we never got charged then.
Would not return to SB or Bulgaria in general as it was not for us - Happy to answer any questions you have.

We can't all like the same places! Sorry your holiday wasn't quite as good as you expected. I hope you were able to get the most out of it though.
I'll echo Steve's thoughts on Khan's Tent - what an excellent night out! £22 gets you everything: entry, three course meal, live music while you eat it, a full bottle of wine per person! a soft drink, a brandy, and an excellent cabaret show after your meal. If you're going to Sunny Beach (or its offered as an excursion) I suggest you go!
I can't really back you up on the luggage though mate - that's like saying you didn't get caught speeding on way to the airport, so you shouldn't have to pay a fine if you get caught speeding home from the airport. Just stick to the limit and you won't have any problems
I didn't encounter any problems with uncooked food, although we mainly ate at the hotel 'cos we were AI.

Just a note on the overweight baggage, when your luggage is weighed, the weight is printed on your luggage receipt, its worth checking the amount as we witnessed several people being charged over what they should have.
