Well i have had two weeks at this hotel between the 13th and the 27th of September with my wife and two daughters.
This will be just a quick review and i will do a longer more detailed one when i get a little more time.
Ok, went with First Choice, flight was fine everything on time and arrived at the airport all fine. Imigration takes about 30 minutes or so, just depends on how many planes had landed at the same time. Picked luggae up and grabbed a trolley. Once you get out the arrivals lounge you will hvae porters ready to take your luggage by asking your Coach Number. If you want help they will but will expect a tip - i did not see the point as i had a trolley
Transfer is about 40 minutes, arrived at the hotel and checked in - all very efficent etc.
Hotel is very very nice and very clean, we had a family room just outside the childrens pool. The room was very big, nice and clean and pretty well furnished - rooms have air con - which is fine. Although i will be honest because the room we had did not really get the sun as it setted to the left, thus the room was always pretty cool, maids did a great job. The TV has bbc world news and also a movie channel which was in english, also you can watch the night time entertainment live on channel 20 if you want.
Entertainment was fine, not the best in the world but kept the familiy entertained. There is also a disco each night at 8:30pm for around 30 minutes with some party games for around 20 minutes, this finished about 9:30 and then the night entertainment started.
The staff are great and very friendly, the animation team are great and really did make the effort.
You have a private beach with loungers etc on there, if you want to go to the sea you walk down a few steps and then onto the public beach - you do getted hassled by hawkers selling there shackles etc, just say "no" and there fine with that.
Service at the bars was fine and i never had any issues, the pool bar got busy sometimes late afternoon but you got served in 5 minutes. The main bar in the entertainment room got a little busy about 9:30 but again you never waited more than 5 / 10 minutes. Word of advice get a beer from the lobby bar ( in a glass ) and take it downstairs, just keep taking the glass back to the bar and they clean it and fill it up again, otherwise you may end up with a paper cup. However towards the end of the second week they seemed to have glasses all the time.
Here is the bad points, the food - it just was so boring and little varity, trust me after two weeks we where glad to be home regarding the food. It was hard for my two daughters as they are quite young and want plain ish things - it was not the type of food for them. I have read a few reviews people saying " what do you expect your in morocco ". My argument to that, is that there cliental are mainly german / french and some english so expect something to cater for all and the hotel has a kids club so obviously alot of the people will have families.
Also the four of us did have the trots but not to the extent that we where stuck in our room - not sure why we got it as we are very careful when away. However alot of people i did speak to around the pool, at least someone in there family was ill. Not just the trots but they where being sick and had stomach cramps etc. I have been all around the world over the last 15 yrs and have never had the trots on holiday. This did not spoil our holiday, however from i heard from people around the pool - it seemed to spoil theres.
Morocco is nice and the souk ( market ), is such a good laugh, plus we went on a camel ride.
So its a very difficult one to judge beause the food was such a big let down. The iberostar is a 4* plus but i dont think the food was upto that standard - however the rest of the hotel is at the 4* plus level.
End of the day, we have been there but i dont think we would go back again. If you want a change from the usual canary islands then try morocco - however i would really do your home work on the hotels etc. There are a few 5 star delux hotels ( atlantis palace and sofetel chains ), which i wish i would have gone to as i had spoke to some people who said there food was better - however these where not All Inclusive.
Anyway, anybody got any quesitons please PM me...
Dave
